Here is a list of mods I have planned for my car:

    • Coilovers
    • Summer wheels & tires
    • Catback exhaust
    • moderate tine (probably 35%)
    • upgrade fog lights
    • ECU flash

I'm not going to be able to do everything all at once, so the question is which do I do first. I really want to chip the car like ASAP. Obviously the cosmetic things (i.e. tint and fog light upgrades) aren't as important, nor as expensive, so we may as well ignore those for now. Does anyone have any input as to whether or not to do wheels & tires first, or would it be better to go with coilovers first. I'm currently at a stock Prem+ 2.0T ride height and wheels (17'). It looks way too high and the gaps are killing me, but I feel like if I lower the cars on those wheels, it will look dumb as hell. Oh, decisions, decisions. Any thoughts?

    Here she is:

    Re: Mods

All depending on the cash flow... I would do the coilovers first. You will be able to adjust the height, so you can lower it more once you have wheels.... on the other hand the ecu flash would be a bit more fun, but you have to watch that warrenty. Since the car is new to design, I would want to hold the warrenty as long as possible..... just to be safe. Coilovers will increase your fun factor while still maintaining you warrenty.... but your going to need some sway bars too!

    Re: Mods

Do the coilovers first with some spacers. That should get you through until you can afford the wheels. I would wait on the ECU until there is a flash available from one of the majors like REVO or GIAC. It will take a while for tuners to get the most out of the new motor.

    Re: Mods

i would go coilovers first too. having aftermarket wheels with that wheel gap looks funnier.

    Re: Mods

Thanks for the input, everyone!!! I'm starting to get the feeling that coilovers would be the best way to beging, lol! I've seen really good reviews on the STaSIS Ohlins B8 kit is pretty nice (crazy expensive, but nice nonetheless)! Is there anything that would provide a better bang-for-buck than this $2.6K set?

BTW, I'm thinking these Hartmann 209 S5 replicas:

For that kinda money, i would get some sick ass air bag system! i think thats too much for some coilovers that barely drop the car hieght... Yess they maybe nice and a good set but for that money , like i said i would get Air ride and look sexi... but thats just my opinion

Does STaSIS not have any other kits for the B8 yet? For my B7 I had their "Track Sport" kit, which was their middle grade setup. They had the Street Sport, Track Sport, and Motor Sport. The later being the top of the line Ohlins kit. I loved the STaSIS and am hoping to go that route again soon.

    Re: Mods

I don't believe they have the track sports or street sports available yet.
