    correct name for this part

    i gota red b6 a4 and the very bottom all around is gray. i want to make that match the car all around. whats the correct name of that bottom gray part??? i would paint it but my body shop guy said the paint wont last on it due to the material.

    those are called lowers. and they can be painted. get a new body shop guy

    Textured? Hmm, mine are smooth, both the lower door trim and the side skirt. If it is in fact textured then it would probably need to be sanded first.

    They are not textured, they are painted with a matte grey finish.

    Painting will hold up just fine, most Audis 2004+ have painted lowers now to match they rest of the car.

    it will hold up fine.. good but will it match the car paint?? like ino it guna b same color but will the plastic look be diff?

    I had mine painted last year and it looks great.. they will have to color match/blend it for it to look perfect. Basically tell them you want the lowers to be color matched/blended with the rest of the car if you want it to look OEM. They will take the Audi color code from your car and go from there. If they don't understand what you are asking then find a good shop that does. Also if you have had any paint work done before to any panel that is above the lowers you should tell them that as well to get it matched correctly. I found out one of my panels had been painted before I owned the car and it doesn't match perfect.. good luck

    They'll match if your bodyshop is good. Don't go Maaco or else it won't match. Pay the extra for an Audi Certified repair facility. They will warranty the paint work.
