Hello every one, it's been a while since I've been on here and I hope every one is doing well.
I wanted to share my experience with Performance Engineered Systems (PES) Tuning. I've tried not to say anything negative about them or their support up until this point, but I feel it's important for me to share my negative experience with them. I don't want any one to go through what I have been going through.
The Summer of 2007 I bought the PES G3 Supercharger for my A4. Before purchasing, I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't need to do any other modifications to the engine. I was told, by Tony, the owner, that I could install the G3 on a stock motor with no problems. Later that summer, I had the G3 installed by a shop that had experience with Audis and with the G3 supercharger. Aside from some quirks, the car was running and I was able to drive it. Shortly after I started getting check engine lights, both solid and flashing, that would come back after being reset. I spoke with Tony and Hugo at PES and was told that a software update would help. I had the shop that installed the G3 do the software update, but the update only made things worse. The car ran poorly and was a pain to drive. Unfortunately, this was my daily driver and I had to make do with driving it until we could figure out what was wrong. PES agreed to work with the shop to see if they could work together to get it running correctly. Before this could happen I ended up getting a flashing check engine light (January of 2008) that would not go away. I had the car looked at by both an independent shop and my Audi dealer, who both found that the engine had been damaged ("blown"). As I realized this was a big deal, I called PES (late January 2008) to see what could be done. I was unable to reach Tony and spoke with Hugo. I asked him to have Tony call me by the end of that week, but I never heard back from anyone. I had the car fixed out of pocket and decided to consult with a lawyer. It was decided to send weekly letters asking PES to contact us, but we heard no response. After a few months of sending letters with no response, I decided to call PES again. I spoke with Patrick on January 6th, 2009 and he suggested I speak with Tony. I called back and left a message for Tony that day, but never heard back. I have called twice (three times?) since then and still have not heard back. I'm not sure what my next move is, but in my opinion this is horrible customer service. There website states they offer a warranty and their on hold message mentions all the benefits and safety of buying from them, but I guess that doesn't apply to me.
If your thinking of buying anything from PES, be aware that if anything goes wrong with their product or with your car, you may be on your own.
Thank you for reading.
