Built ko4 or stock block rs6

What would you guys go with? I'm actually thinking ko4 is that crazy, or should I go with rs6, I'm gonna do my best to get rs6 but should plan for ko4 anyways

Jared used to be able to get Rostens, I don't know if he still can. You could go with Intergrated Engineering or "034". I personally went with Pauters.

boost doesn't determine power. it's all the matter of flow.

18psi on ko3 and 18psi on ko4 and 18 on GTs is all different. You want the most flow of compressed air that you can get to the motor...i hope this makes sense

Just no race gas on the rs6's if you leave the block stock.

Some type of gt turbo casa, thats what you need, build the engine, gt terbs.

If you do want more power in the future then Rods will cost the same as the rs4 components that the fastest k04 cars are running and will net much more gains.

thankyou good sir. I don't know why everyone is saying go GT. he clearly states he plans on a stock block for now so the idea of a gt is out of the question. On top of the rods, GT kits need built heads, tubi manifolds, bulletproof clutches, endless seals and gaskets and a ton of other shit which puts the kit at 2x the cost of a stock block rs6 or k04.

rs6s are an extra 500 bux for the turbos and you get around 75-100 hp extra. Now look at an OTS stage 3 kit where you get about 350whp. Getting that extra 100 horses from the k04 will surely cost more than 500 bucks. The rs6s will have a little more lag, maybe a couple hundred rpms but there ability to hit higher boost and hold it makes it worth the money. If you go with rs6s you can throw in rods later for 1500 with labor and seals and such and you'll be able to hit 28-30 PSI and hold 27 to redline. A k04 is like a hair drier over 21 PSI because of the small hotside. PM ubermidget, he went from a marc tuned stage3 to vast rs6s. the 10secS4 kit is still local and it can't touch the VAST car which has stock rods.

Agree with most of what you say, except for the specifics on the prices. KO4's are what, $2200-2400 and RS6's are $3550-3600 right? A little more than $500 difference And even with the least expensive rods, IE rods at $850 a set, with all of the necessary seals/bearings and the labor of tearing the engine, balancing the rotating assembly, and assembing the motor again, you're likely to be over $1500 for that as well.

That's basically what I'm trying to do. But was worried I wouldn't enjoy the rs6 as much as built ko4s but it seems like I'm way off on that, what would you change on your setup and what clutch and flywheel

A built K04 setup isn't going to give you anymore power. Building the block is going to ensure that you don't put a whole in it. Unfortunately K04's can't put down that much power, therefore making it pointless.

The only benefit I see you getting from a built block on K04's, is the fact that you have a fresh motor.

the only thing I want to at the moment is add W/M and maybe an x-1 intake along with some revisions to my tune. Im running a CM stage 3 w/ lwfw from my old k04 setup...still holding strong, but i dont drive the car in the winter so the test will be in the spring

eventually down the road im going to build up a 3.0 and put some billet wheels in the rs6's

gl on the build whichever you may choose, you wont be dissapointed w/ the rs6's
