Going to check out a B6 A4 on Saturday, which questions should I ask?

It's an 03, Tip, Quattro, 70k miles, female driven. Anything I should look out for, or ask for? Is there anything I should do before heading out there?

Also, how much does an inspection from an Audi dealership usually run? Is this recommended?

    Thanks!

ask for service records! make sure oil changes were done regularly and with that many miles see if she has had the timing belt service done!!!

When is the timing belt supposed to be done? 90k? 100k? How much does that belt (along with other belts if they're usually done at the same time) service usually cost?

Inspection from an Audi dealership? LOL
No my friend, find an independent mechanic who specializes in VAG cars or European imports in general. Call around and negotiate some pricing, they usually cut you a deal if it's just an inspection. That way you can have a rappor with a good mechanic before you get any future work done.

It's a 1.8T. I hear they're better all around? Better gas, better reliability?

Problem is, the car is 2 hours away from my house. They want to show the car near their location, so any Euro (VAG? not familiar with the acronym) mechanic I find there won't be practical for me. Plus I have a mechanic near my house, who's a friend of my girlfriend's dad, who I can rely on for future service

    Like the first post said:

    Regular oil changes

I doubt the timing belt has been done, so that should be number 1 on your list to have done
if you can do it yourself: ~350. If you can't ~800-1200, from what I here.
See if it has a clean title (no accidents)

    VAG: volkswagen audi group

Just don't let the dealer BS you.

Well..went to go look at it..looked like it went through hell..inside and out..including multiple poles, curbbed on all for wheels (the entire face of the wheels were damn near gone), stereo buttons worn clean off so that half of the button is white, instead of black..and it seemed like "pieces" of the car were missing. :( Time to keep looking.

*edit: Is vag-com something I can buy that just plugs into the car?
