VVME - matter of time I suppose..

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well.. It has been a little over a year since I have ran there HID setup. Today my passenger side ballast took a shit on me.. I guess it was only a matter of time. Makin the post so future people order the DDM over VVME

Anyone need an extra ballast or 8k bulbs? No use for them, gonna order 6k's to replace.

Time to order some DDM's.. U.S. made and lifetime warranty FTW.

I almost just bought both the 4300k and 10000k kit in the classifieds, glad I didn't! Worth it to spend $30 more for US shipping rate and warranty!

my friends VVME's broke at the track because of some wheel hop

(and when installing them the clips had to be broken and flipped around...the +/- were reversed. had to put zipties so they would stay in the ballast..flicker once in a while

this was a problem on 2 pairs we ordered

Yeah.. I had great results with them. Never had a single problem till now. And it isn't even worth my time to try and talk to a company that barely speaks english haha.

lol I like how you started the thread expecting one to die because they're bad, and you end up almost convincing someone to get it based on price alone? does not compute...

i've had vvme for 2.5yrs. they are starting to crap out though. the right bulb sometimes wouldnt ignite when i first turn on the headlights. i have to turn them off n on. Also the light is much dimmer than what it used to be and they flicker on bumps. I definitely got my moneys worth but i'm going ddm in the future

I'd go for that then - 6000k puts out less light than 4300k, which is OEM, chosen for a reason.

Seeing as the whole idea of upgrading from halogens to xenons is to get more lumen output...

the 55watt 6000K bulbs are very close to 35watt 4300k bulbs......the higher output ballasts wash out more of the blue light normally associated with 6000K bulbs....they are VERY white....hardly any tint of blue in my setup....seriously

Re: VVME - matter of time I suppose..

Has anybody had DDMs for more than a year? I see cheap HIDs being cheap HIDs... If you want higher quality, you're not going to get it for $15. The higher end kits cost $200+ each for a reason...

Still, I have VVMEs in my fogs and I have an H4 kit on my bike... Given, I haven't had them too long, but I'd like to hear if DDMs really are any better. No complaints w/the VVMEs so far.

He's right. With the 55w, a lot of the color is washed out. I recently installed the DDM 55w 6000k and im very happy with them all around, they are only really blue when they are warming up. Ive heard nothing but good things about DDM, you cant beat the price and warranty

Does it really matter? They have a lifetime warranty, so I could care less if I go threw a set every couple years. Being that they are out of the U.S. they are much better to deal with over some other companies.

Everything I read about the 55w set-up regardless of the bulb type is that is is a worth while upgrade. 4500K would look like stock BMW hid's IMO.

I have VVME's now at the two year mark with 6000K's and will be upgrading to 55w's sometime this year DDM. One of my pack's (VVME) has visible burn/heat marks on it.

Still debating on 4500K or 5000K for my next set-up combined with the 55w set-up slim balast from DDM.

I think I might go with the 55W 5000k, but I need to get a good set of two piece projectors, or one pieces off a 99.5 and up.

I have 8K VVME HID's in my car for over 2 years now, and havent had any problems with them. I been through hell in that car, mud, snow, ice, heat. Even took them out and put the stock back in for a few weeks. They still are running good. **knocks on wood**

I have the 6k 55w DDM kit and love it. Warranty is a sweat deal too! Funny how it's almost the same as buying a set of hella bulbs or silverstars.
