Update for the archives:
Here is a pic of how a 6 speed Milltek downpipe looks on a 5 speed trans. As you can see, the lollipop for the 5 speed is not even close to the bracket on the downpipe. I do know that the 6 speed lollipop is quite a bit longer than the 5 speed, but even then it would never reach.
My solution was to fab a ~6" long extension using some galvanized mild steel. It needed two bends and seems to be working well. The exhaust is rock solid now.
(I have a pic of this but forgot to upload it to photobucket from my laptop, and will add it later)
To make this you need:
-piece of steel ~6" long. Preferably stainless or galvanized, untreated will be a mess once it rusts.
-sharpie marker
-5/16" drill bit
-one M8 bolt and one M8 locking nut. Cannot be nyloc for obvious reasons. I used a spare manifold nut that was sitting around my garage
-vise and hammer to make the angles.
Basic technique is to drill one end, attach it to the lollipop and then draw markings where the bends will be.. bend and re-fit until it sits well and flush. Then straiten the lollipop until they are all in line, mark a spot to drill the lower hole, drill and bolt it up. DONE.
Any questions PM me. I hope this helps someone in the future.
