Vehicle History Reports? Whats the best?

I purchased my 04 S4 used, and im interested in what it's been through.


I know there's a few VHR websites, Carfax sucks IMO.(I got one car Cali Barred, and Carfax says nothing about it.)

Carfax offers unlimited 30 day($40), while AutoCheck offers 60 day($25).


Carfax says 18 records found.


Auto Check says 14 records found.




What website would you go with, and which is more informative?

Using a vehicle record service is usually more effective prior to purchasing the vehicle

But honestly, it's all about luck with those. Something only shows up if it's been reported. It's not CarFax's fault that nobody reported an accident or such. As for which to use, I only have experience with CarFax. A single report is $30; how many are you wanting to pull? I'd say the difference is 4 records is worth the extra $5. Just my .02
