    there is only one short throw worth buying

    JHM has the ulitmate shifter, with a video that explains installation.

    people arent even trying to SEARCH anymore

    Jeez, no one can search huh? If you did however use the SEARCH button you would have discovered that JHM solid short throw shifter is the way to go!

    I hear that the s4 1-2 syncros and shift collar love the ebay kits... I'd check that out.

    The only thing stopping me from getting the JHM SS kit is that you have to buy the stupid alignment tool as well that would go straight in the garbage afterwards.

    Is it possible to install (correctly) without using the alignment tool?

    you dont need the tool, just angle the shifter a tad and shift the gears if they all work then your ok, if not angle some more.

    Good to know. Makes me lean more to purchasing it. I thought it was pretty much a necessity.

    The angle finder is 5 bucks and is handy for...finding angles. Not that big a deal and you can do it w/o like others said.
    And to the OP...JHM if you haven't figured it out yet.
