Almost certainly the wrong type of bulb. I had this problem for months when I bought my car and finally replaced it with the correct one and the warning went away. What type did you install and in what lamp?

You need to replace the bulb holder....it's a known problem on our Audi's! When you replace the hold make sure you put some dielectric grease on the contacts of the bulb holder!

okay so i didnt replace the bulb holder but i did switch my drivers with my passangers and for some reason it still didnt work. and when i put the one i thought was broken into the other headlight it works! so its not the bulb holder. i think it might be the actual socket of the headlight. mayeb a fuse? i tried hittin up both the socket and bulb holder with a witre brush and some dielectric grease and nothing. the parking lights work but it just doenst blink when i hit the turn signal!

Go to Auto Zone and get some bulb grease, should be up at the front counter. Put it on the metal contact points all along the bottom of the bulb. Spread it evenly don't just glop it on. Try that and it will keep the bulb and holder metal contacts from causing any melting of the bulbs. Try this and report back with possibly some new bulbs as well. Let us know how this works for you

Don't mean to be discouraging but...

At this point i dont see what else it could be if you've exhausted all of your options. The only things i can think of now are:

    a) There is something wrong with the contacts on the headlight

    b) You have some type of simple electrical problem/wiring issues to the headlight...
