Leave the LED's to the new generation Audi's.

Ecodes or OEM for the B5's, anything else is rice IMHO.

LEDs are for B8s

E-codes are for B5's

ive had alot of experience buying aftermarket headlights tail lights for my japanese cars. problem with stuff like this is they look great and all and the housings are nice but they skimp on the projectors. is it a h7 or d2s projector. was the lense designed for HID? usually not! They will look great on the car but you beam pattern will suffer so it just depends how picky you are. Im picky. I got a set for my celica off ebay. they look great but the low beam projector sucks. So Im retrofiting a TSX projector in there to have OEM quality HID again.
So i guess my answer is you will most likely get a downgrade in light pattern and an upgrade in looks(if its your style). but i could be wrong cause i dont know the company that makes them. If they were by TYC i would buy them in a second. they are one of the aftermarket companys that exceed OEM specs.

Perhaps the black housing ones will look cleaner without that thick black outline? Graham what exactly is that black outline? Is it a thick seal around the lights? Can it be modified to be thinner?

I would try these if they were less than $150 lol.

They are H1s. I have 3 sets of projectors right now. One from my Xenon Ecodes (on my car in Ecode housings), one from my Halogen ecodes, and one from my N/A Xenons. So I would definitely swap out one of them for the crappy H1s in there now.

No time to waste that kind of money on maybes right now though.

Don't feel them at all.

The thick black outline at the corners isn't a seel - it's the black plastic backing within the unit, and thus can't be modified.
