So here's the deal I have the 100k extended warranty on my car. Does anyone know if I were to instal an exhaust system (catback apr) would it completely void my warranty. Has anyone got stuff fixed at their audi dealership while they've had their exhaust. I asked a service consultant at the dealership a while back and he said it wouldn't void the warrenty, but i just wanted to make sure. Thanks for anyone's help

Exhaust will not void your warranty, but it doesn't hurt to ask your Audi tech to be positive.

Usually, Audi dealers don't care if you do a chip/intake/exhaust or whatever. However, they will not warranty a problem if your mod caused it. This should go without saying.

For example, I had a coolant leak because of a faulty o-ring seal and I was also chipped. These two are unrelated, so they covered the o-ring for free. However, if my turbo blew it would not be covered because my chip causes it to push about 22psi instead of the stock amount. I do not care because this is not common and I trust the software I have

moral of the story is aftermarket exhaust can't cause any problems so you're golden
    Ignorance is bliss.

exactly^^ My Dealer told me that it would be cool to put an exhaust on haha. They told me that if anything goes wrong related to the exhaust, then i would have to cover it.

    Re: exhaust help!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my dealership tried to not fix my transmission because they saw I had an intake and diverter valve. After 4 months, a few meetings with the Audi regional manager, letters sent to executives at AoA, they ended up voiding my warranty. It came down to them finally inspecting my car to see if I was chipped. The car wasn't chipped, but their claim was that they had reason to believe the car was chipped because my ECU box was missing a screw. I had bought a boost gauge when VMR was having their introductory sale and to install it I had to open the ECU box to gain access through the firewall. When I finished, it was late and dark and I didn't want to fuss with getting the last screw put in... After telling my story to Ben Holisder in Audi's warranty department, he said their ruling was final and there was nothing more he could do for me. So now the last option I have is to file a law suit... I don't really have the funds to try and take on AoA, so it looks like I'm screwed.

So, my advice is to get it in writing from the dealership that they will fix your car under warranty if the problem is not related to your exhaust system. However, like with my case, they could always run you around in circles for 4 months and then come up with a bullshit reason as to why they don't want to fix your car under warranty...

my dealer said that if they found any aftermarket parts that they have to work on i would have to pay the labor. BUT...i have in the past with my VW put an aftermarket exhaust on gone to the dealer...paid a small labor fee for something they did on teh car...and when i went back to stock with the oem parts i never got charged...
