glad i own an audi, not a jeep

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
ya kno, i'm still young (low posts) on here but i can tell you that if i ever have a problem or an issue with my audi and need help, i can post on here and usually within minutes, someone has a reply w/ good info. that being said, i'm glad i own an audi.. now, my cousin has an 04 grand cherokee. has an issue w/ the drivers door window/lock/mirror switch. i am lost somewhat in diagnosing this issue. so i found jeepforum.com and thought i'd get the same good results on there as i do on here. YEAH RIGHT!!! http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=677002 check the time from the first post, to the second, to the third.. by me.. people look at it, but noone replies at all. i guess noone works on their own jeeps. again, i'm glad i own an audi, and not a jeep.

Re: glad i own an audi, not a jeep

You're probably on the wrong Jeep forum. Never heard of that one. Looks like its full of crickets.

These guys know their stuff: http://www.neow.org/ I'm a member on there and know a bunch of members from back when I lived in New Hampshire and owned a YJ. Wrote a few tech articles for their forum as well.

email me the issue and maybe I can help. I a familiar with Jeeps as well. Been around them for the past 10-15 years.

This will probably get moved to chatterboxxx

    pshh, try going to audiforums.com.

you will find an utterly incompetent audi forum.

MallCrawlin or NAGCA are the places to go for ZJs, WJs, and WKs.

I've noticed this is a pretty busy forum. I'm on a couple different forums; RSX, Mac, Vortex, and here (obviously). And my friend just got an 05 STI in WR blue and gold rims combo and he said he can't find shit for his car. So he just uses a regional NW Motor club forum but even that isn't as busy. Audizine and Vortex are for sure the busiest forums i've ever seen or been on. I was really glad to find Audizine for that.

jeepsunlimited.com isn't a bad Jeep forum either (it's down for the week though). Mallcrawlin is mostly for modified Grands, and NAGCA is good too. Been a Jeep owner for over 7 years now and those sites have provided all the info I've needed! Jeepforum sucks...It's the red-headed step child of Jeep forums

hardy anything is as nice as AZ. Even the format on here is really nice and easy compared to other places. But the added busy factor really bumps it up a notch.

I love the format of audizine. Especially that it breaks down the forums into generations the way it does. I was checking out NASIOC and it's VERY general for the most part. I like being able to talk to so many other people with the EXACT same car i have. Makes things really easy.

Which PM do you want me to read? I see two but they look identical. I'll read and reply tomorrow or this weekend if you don't mind. Want to actually get to sleep before 11 for once this week.

I wish I had disposable income to mod my XJ. Got a plan in my head: Dana 44 up front with a Ford 8.8 out back both locked and re-geared. 8inch lift with 35s. Maybe even do a custom rear coil spring conversion with parts from a ZJ. Saw-Zall'd wheel wheels for more room. Custom fabbed (by me) rear bumper with tire carrier and front bumper with stinger bar. etc. etc. etc..

Which reminds me. I have to replace the front D30 u-joints

I had a Jeep Wrangler for nearly 7 years, nothing on it ever broke, might be why jeep fourms are dead in terms of diagnosing problems. I miss being fearless around pot holes and curbs, but i don't miss being that slow.

Which is why I drive my XJ to work during the week. Esp with how bad the roads in Hartford get in the winter.

Re: glad i own an audi, not a jeep

my brother had a 95 cherokee w/ 4.0 and auto. had 216k miles on the odo and motor ran like a champ.. he had an issue with the front pass axle seal and wheel bearing that took a shit on him.. the cost it would be to fix was close to 700 bux, which was enough to say junk it since it needed some work to pass pa state inspection due to rust.. so now he has a 91 explorer eddie bouer and does he miss his jeep alot!!! jeep went anywhere, and is that 4.0L in the jeep one torquey bastard!!! off the line, i bet his jeep would have a better 60ft time than my audi..

Re: glad i own an audi, not a jeep

I had 30inch tires on my '93 YJ and I could chirp 2nd gear (on dry pavement) if I got on it thanks to the torque of the 4.0L.

My '99 XJ 4.0L is solid at 160k. It needs a new rear main seal. That's about it.
