it doesnt mean driving for 2 hours straight that I know of... I have reset mine( before i start driving) and it would pop up and flash 2:00 and when I switch the display to the time it says 0:54 or something a log ways away from 2:00. I live where it doesnt get to cold so I dont think it is that either. Would be nice to know.

Well it means you've been driving for two hours straight. It will do it again at four hours as well.

Did you exceed your preset speed warning? I have mine set to 90 and when I go over that 2:00 pops up.

It has nothing to do with speed, temperature, or even music choice. It's a safety feature put in to let you know that you have been driving for over two hours. It's to remind you that driving for extended periods of time without taking breaks could potentially be dangerous. Nothing more, nothing less.

The speed warning is a completely different symbol and I hate the speed warning btw. It always takes over my MFD when I do my road trips.

It means driving for two hours(not necessarily 2 hours straight). However, short breaks does not reset it. I am not sure exactly how long you have to stop to trigger a reset, but if you just stop and go to the rest room, it's usually not long enough. In fact, I believe I have stopped to eat before, and it's still not long enough.

...what bcramer said.... and your car is reading -7.5c, so i tend to feel that it might get a little chilly there...I am from Florida man, 50f is cold!

I don't know if this is the same for A4s with the red display, but I have the color one that came on the older cars. In mine, I have trip computer 1 and trip computer 2. 1 seems to reset itself every time you take a "break", whatever that is. Getting back in the car after work, it's usually reset. 2 keeps going until you reset it manually, so that's the one I tend to use to keep an eye on my average MPG for each tank of gas. I usually reset 2 before I start a long trip, but I tend to forget about TC1.

As per the instruction manual, the warning definitely means that you have been driving for two hours without taking a break. To get rid of it, all you have to do is acknowledge it by pressing one of the buttons on the control stalk. As far as the length of time the "break" has to be, I'm not so certain. I think it's about 15 minutes or so, but don't quote me on that...

To clear up the confusion, it appears if you've been driving for two hours straight. If you drove a bit before that, and its still on the same cycle, it might blink and say "2:23", but you've been driving for two hours solid. Its the German way of telling you to pull over and snort some cocaine or something to wake you up (or stretch, walk around, etc).

I have driven from the San Francisco area to Lake Tahoe a few times now since I got my car, which is at least a 3 hour drive. I have yet to ever see this warning, which means a. my car for some reason doesn't do it, or b. i am not paying enough attention and should probably heed the warnings it is intended to give!

I turn it on at 85mph the speed limit is 70 or less. It's normally turned on for about 15-20 minutes then I can't take it anymore and turn it off.
