i recently installed a boost gauge in my 98 1.8t to find out i was running 0 psi of boost. so i checked the dv, found it was bad and replaced it. still no boost. pressure tested it and found a huge hole in a breather hose. just fixed that and still no boost. what do i do now???

keep looking for leaks. when you dont think there are any more, theres always another. also check your wastegate actuator on the turbo and make sure its working, sometimes the arm becomes loose or falls off after a decade of use. if your WG is fine, your DV is working and the N75 is hooked up correctly, the only other thing that would limit boost would be a a leak.

ha checked the wg arm today and the wastegate is trashed. i can slide the arm back and forth and open and close the door in the turbo

    Re: major boost issues

you should be able to do that....
have you tryed operating it manually with the vacume/pressure line coming off it? if you put like 5-6psi into that line and the wg actuator arm moves then that diaphram is still good.
could be that it is majorly out of adjustment? you should take the exhaust mani off and look into the top of the turbo on the exhaust side. see what that little release valve on the waste gate side looks like. and if it is loose then adjust the little 10mm nuts on the wg arm untill it is snug. put all back together and see if you can build some boost...
thats what i would do before i would buy up an ebay one or spend any money...
unless you already tryed this then just disregard my post.
or could it be the n75 valve?
and or you could bypass the n75 valve by pinching off that hose goin to the wg actuator...this in theroy would be full boost ALL THE TIME no pressure bleed off of any kind. so if you do that drive carfully.
    ??
this is the adjustment iam talkin about
