    EuroCode is being f'in Rediculous!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Its been 23 days since i ordered my exhaust and test pipe and still NOTHING!

After 2 weeks of ordering i called them and asked where my exhaust was. They pretty much told me they forgot to ship it out, so i asked for a tracking number and they gave it to me. For a whole week the tracking status said "Billing Information Recieved" This was making me mad since it still showed it had not been shipped out.

I call them yesterday and ask them where the hell my exhaust is since its been 22 days and still nothing! The "kid" told me they had to wait for the vender, Thermal, to send it through DeCorsa and then to them or some bullshit, i dont even know. He told me they shipped it out that day, and gave me a new tracking number. I also asked him where my test pipe was because he told me they would ship that out on a seperate order the week before for some reason. He told me that it should be in today, and it never came.

To top it off, tonight i check the UPS tracking status and it says "BILLING INFORMATION VOIDED" .............WTF

This is absolutely rediculous, who the hell should wait a month to receive something? When i made the order over the phone, they never said anything about the exhaust not being in stock, i still don't know what the true story is or what the hell is going on! They did a great job charging my account the day of the order but are being retarded about sending the order out?

Has anybody else ever had a bad experience with them? Any advice on what i should do? Yesterday they told me that the exhaust will be at my door on Monday. Im thinking about calling them tomorrow and telling them that if i don't get my order on monday, then i want a full refund!

they do not carry these items in stock since their shop does not have the room to store every part available through them in bulk, especially big items like exhausts. they receive these items from vendors and in turn ship it to you when they receive it or have the vendor ship directly to you. Parts get on backorder, parts take time to ship out during the holiday season, etc. It sucks but that's the way it goes sometimes. I see no reason why you would need the testpipe unless you have the exhaust though. I'm sure they will do right with you. They definitely appreciate your business.

Re: EuroCode is being f'in Rediculous!

This is the usual story with them, they drop ship most of the products they sell, so they keep little inventory (I assume), then you get the runaround for as long as it takes for all the parties involved to get the stuff out. I have dealth with this myself and have heard countless others as well. Best solution find another vendor.

The shop itself is tiny; been there several times. So dropshipping is what they have to do quite a bit; and everytime that is involved it will take longer. This is excessive though you are right there. Call them on Monday like you said and be firm they will make it right.

its one thing not to have something in stock but its a whole other story not having something in stock and not telling the customer, and then feeding him bullshit until like you said, they get it from another vendor, seriously if i knew it was gonna take a month to get the item then i would have bought it from somewhere else. Id rather a company be upfront and honest with me then send me bullshit tracking numbers, and making promises they cant keep.

OP you're in Cleveland, you should definitely be ordering from ECS... shipping time is like one day and they have a lot of inventory.

I'm not saying that ECS hasnt had it's problems, but at least it is fast shipping and quick turnaround if you return something.

In my experience Stratmosphere has excellent customer service, maybe you should have bought a Milltek?

not getting into the customer service thing here, but no, he should not have bought a milltek. Thermal is consistently one of the highest quality, best sounding, and certainly the best result-proven mass market exhaust for the b6. I have had mine for 3 years, and even on my completely custom setup most of it remains valid and in-place (less downpipe which of course had to be reworked).

craftsmanship is top-notch...better than any others I have seen in person...which includes APR, Milltek, magnaflow, and a whole host of custom jobs.

I am sorry it is taking so long for the OP to get it, and moreover that he is getting the run-around...but the wait is well worth it.

This is a highly subjective argument.

Is there an exhaust comparison writeup somewhere that I haven't seen? Hopefully with dynos? I'd be really interested to see how they all stack up against one another. Comparing 2.5 ->2.25" systems that is, even though Milltek is metric and a bit smaller.

I personally cannot stand loud exhausts or drone. Hence Milltek.

I would have said screw it after day 21 and get my credit card company to do a charge back.

No point in sending a company like that my money.

Yes but how are you supposed to do that when they keep telling you its in the mail?

as far as why ordering from EuroCode and not ECS? I love dealing with ECS, they've always treated me right, but they only carry one exhaust, and i would also have to pay tax on the item on top of everything else.

As stated above Ecode does not carry these in stock, they have to order from Thermal or whoever and then it can either get dropped shipped or sent to ecode to be sent out.

Ecode might not have anything to do with it taking a long time. Backorder, needs to be made etc can all come into play.

Another note, I dont think ECS even carries these exhaust.

Just call and ask to talk to dave and he can set things straight for you.

Its not a matter of what they have to do to get it. Its about telling me im gonna get it this day or that day, or that its already in the mail...here is a fake tracking number, have fun with it. And yea waiting a month isn't ok either.....no matter what. Like i said before, i wouldnt be pissed if someone just sacked up and told me what was really going on.

subjective, yes, but I can say this much in my experience. Thermal provided me with 8whp uncorrected on the dyno as a stand-alone mod (on a 1+ car)...meaning no other changes to the car were made when i dyno tested it. Others have had similar experiences nationwide on similar setups. To the best of my knowledge, no other mass-marketed exhaust has provided the same results consistently, nor have they added up the HP to their advertised #s the way the thermal has. Of the mass-marketed systems, Milltek is the most restrictive in design, and has the least expensive construction methods and finish as compared to thermal, which is often as expensive if not slightly less so.

here is why, in my humble opinion....design.

the 3in midpipe following the 2.5in downpipe is the key. the 2.5in dp maintains exhaust velocity out of the turbo (or cat), then allows it to expand a bit before the split in the midpipe...where it splits, then goes down 2x2.25 in pipes to the back...again maintaining its velocity after some expansion and cooling in the mid-pipe.

now that is my theory...but in actual backpressure testing my system on a k04-15 car, running a test pipe, yielded .5psi of backpressure at the rear o2 bung...meaning there is very little resistance to flow. This is not an NA car where pulses are key and a little backpressure can be a great thing...these FI cars chew up engine pulses in the turbo, so a smooth steady flow and exit is key for us...and the thermal delivers it.

Because it hasn't been in the mail. For a chargeback, you don't deal with EuroCode you deal with your credit card company.

What is the difference in contruction that makes it less expensive? Less welding? One of the reasons I chose the Milltek is the mandrel single pipes as opposed to welded pipes (such as the 034 3" system)... less places to crack and even with stainless it seems that welds have a tendency to rust like hell. Finish is pretty unimportant do you think? I mean, it is underneath the car... who needs a polished exhaust except the tips?

Also, in my experince the stainless steels used by different manufacturers are NOT all of the same quality, even though they all say it is 304 SS. Im very interested to see how this Milltek holds up over the next 100k miles. With 25k it still looks brand spanking new.

Well its not a fake tracking number. The way it works is Ecode creates a shipping label for it and pays for it, and once Thermal or whatever company sends the package, they put their shipping label on and ship it out.

So its not fake, just your package didnt get shipped to Ecode to send out yet. Every shop or company that sells products and ships them out has to creates shipping labels in house and pays for shipping before its even sent out.

To say its in the mail is another thing though, but make sure all your facts are straight before bashing companies, shop, people etc....

Like i said call David and shoot straight with him and he will take care of it. No need to come on the forums callin people out.

    To OP:

Maybe you should cancel and try the new 034 exhaust....

Thermal is all mandrel bend and the highest quality you can get.

They used my B7 A4 as a car to mock up the B7 system and I must say their factory is insane and parts are top notch quality.

If I buy a aftermarket exhaust its going to be thermal, other than that custom.

If it makes you feel any better, I bought a thermal exhaust 2 saturdays ago. The guy told me it was shipped out and on its way that day.... I have been tracking the number and it finally shipped as of last night at 11pm.

Not yet, putting in all the nick nack stuff as of now.

Fuel pump, lines, etc. Im going to put the whole turbo kit on the 1.8 and dial it in, then dyno on the 1.8.

That way we can see true gains from 1.8 to 2.0 on the same setup.

Lol true, but you have a lot better chance! Did they ever send you your stuff, or are you gonna have to drive and get it?
