funny story about the seller. I was coming off an exit ramp on rt 80 a few weeks when I see a truck behind me cut across a bunch of lanes and follow me off the highway. He pulls up next to me and tells me to roll my windows down.

"what kinda front mount is that" I tell him generic core (ebay) with custom piping. "What evos? pull over I wanna check out your setup."

We pull over and I pop the hood. The guy talked like crazy about intercoolers and a4's and how he used to drag race and all kinds of stuff at a million words per minute. I was

... he told me he had a A4 he was building and putting $16,000 into. Apparently it will be 'one of a kind' for sure. Painting custom 1987 chrysler orange with smoke accents and welding the rear doors shut and shaving everything on the car. I'm glad hes around now online cuz I really wanna see how this one turns out!

He did mention he had an APR kit for sale and was doing a 3071R externally wastegated but with a t25 flange? Because T3 flanged turbos don't spool as fast or something? haha i dont really remember but it was a crazy story. Also was talking about custom 3 piece 19's he had made for a ton of money. I was in shock by the end of the conversation but am very interested to see the final result of his project!

It was such a random funny morning...the best part is I kept on telling him ebay intercooler and he kept on saying oh yea I know EVO's really good company they make intakes too... lolol

its for sale in the classifieds here also. I have an idea what hes looking to get for it since he offered it to me at a price when he pulled me over lol

quick noob BT question - at what point do i have to start worrying about shape & longevity of internals – meaning could I bolt this setup w/o upgrading the internals? I know its prolly a good idea at that level but IIRC remember seeing that our motors are good up to around 300hp on stockies?
Ive got some reading up to do.. but the $$ is already in the worksss

^APR kits are designed to utilise the stock engine to it's full potential without harming internals (tuning and parts is key). Same principle applies with eliminator setups. But that still does not mean one should go about beating on thier engine. If you are going to upgrade rods, might as well go minumum GT2871R. Stock engine rods are good to ~400chp and the GT28RS is rated at 350chp.
