    Starting Issues

Hey guys, so i started my car last friday, and after idling very roughly for about 10 feet it died. I got it started a couple more times but it would die almost immediately. I tried starting it a few more times, but a chime would come on, and the oil light would come on. My battery is fine, and i even got jumped to make sure that it wasn't my battery. The only codes i got were misfires.

Anybody have any ideas? Mods are in my sig, I recently changed my oil with Royal Purple 5w30 and the level is fine. I also changed my plugs with BKR7E's. I've never had this issue before in the 4 years I've owned this car.

It is very difficult to diagnose without codes. Did you mess with the ignition modules at all? Check and make sure all of your coilpacks are seated properly on the plugs. Make sure you don't have any MAJOR vacuum leaks. Let us know.

Hm, i will check the ignition modules. I had to take them off to replace my air filter, and i scrubbed off what i thought was corrosion. Im guessing that's some sort of contact promoter. any idea what i should put on it? I know i don't have any huge vacuum leaks.

    Re: Starting Issues

tried starting the car again yesterday with no success. I realized that I can no longer hear my fuel pump. Pretty sure it's dead. I talked to my mechanic, and he said that with my symptoms a bad fuel pump sounds about right. I just ordered a bosch 044 from 034. Hopefully that fixes the problem. I will keep you guys posted.

    Re: Starting Issues

Hey guys, just figured that I would update with the solution. It was a combination of a plugged fuel filter, bad connection on my icm's, and fouled plugs from all the cranking.

Thanks for updating your thread with the fix. This is very important so when I get similar trouble, I can read what fixed your problem. I wish everybody did this...
