Stock lug bolt replacement-any choices for lightweight ones?

I'm more curious than anything but I'm changing out my rims today and after having a hell of a time trying to locate some locally I'm ending up with some pretty crappy chrome ones that even though are new have already started to rust in some areas.

I've had similar chrome lug bolts before and know that that do that and it gets worse over time. So it comes to this post looking for some better looking log bolts and it would also be nice to find some that are lighter weight also. My buddy has a 1985 Porsche that he's rebuilding and it comes with some incredibly light weight lug nuts that are made of some kind of material. I don't know if they are titanium or plastic bit they weigh next to nothin.

I can make more weight reduction by taking a crap.
Are you doing any other weight reduction or is this it?

Randomly found it while looking for a tuning shop out here...
I hooked em up with some goodridge lines and noticed a considerable difference compared to that of the stock rubber slop. Its not a Brembo set-up, but it's an in expensive little mod, while keeping the S stealth!

    chiggidy check it....

I have a set to install on the S4. They replace the rubber caliper bushings with bronze bushings, the idea is that they eliminate the rubber bushing's "play" and give better pedal feel when braking.

I have not used them before, but TT and Passat owners report that they are a maintenance item (clean and relube 2 times/year or so) as the bushings are now exposed to dirt/water/road salt, which was not the case with the rubber ones.

Could you post a review when you get them installed?

Those are titanium lug nuts that are on the Porsche. My friend has them too and they are sweet.

Skip lug bolts and do a stud conversion instead. Then you can pick up a set of those titanium nuts and be happy.

I hated the fact the chrome bolts that came with my wheels started to flake and rust.

Did you do a stud conversion? If so, where did you get everything?

I did do a stud conversion and I love it. So much easier to swap wheel when you are a wheel whore like myself.

I got all the parts from www.bildon.com but I am sure most of the other advertisers here can hook you up as well.

X2. I converted my TT to studs to use with spacers, and got the kit from Bildon.

FYI, be sure you know if your wheels require ball or tapered (cone) seat lug nuts. Audi stock are ball seat, most (but not all) aftermarket wheels are cone seat.
