    Chocolate MILKY Oil (PIC included)

Hi all, checked oil level this morning on my 1.8T AWM and to my surprise (look at PIC) I saw this color. Milky way style oil specially designed for our cars FREE of charge . Car has 84K on the clock running 20 PSI of boost on GTRS. What are your initial thoughts? I know I know....oil cooler or head gasket most likely the first one cuz compression is good on all 4 cylinders. Coolant color is ok so I guess coolant is mixing with oil cuz of oil cooler failure. And oil is thick as hell. Now I don't have a car for the next couple of days coming from 20 pounds of boost to the BUS. Hate it or Love it all the way.

    Just drained the oil:

if the compression is good then replace the oil cooler. Its pretty cheap so go ahead and try that first. how does the coolant look? or did it all drain?

Haven't drained the coolant yet but looking at the coolant extension tank it is ok and level is down a little.

Oil cooler is cake. Mine is off right now because the gasket blew and oil was everywhere.

It should take you like an hour and a half MAX!

I would suggest flushing out the coolant system too if your oil and coolant were mixing. Also some liquid dishsoap is good for removing all the oil film from your coolant system.

just run the car with a garden hose in the tank and a coolant line off. It took me 1 hr of flushing to get the coolant to not have a oil film on the top of it.

Well you're gonna need to get your oil filter off.

Take the hoses off going to the cooler. It is easier to take them off with it on. Then there is a large nut holding the actual cooler on. It should be a little more than finger tight. I didn't have the correct socket so I just used a screw driver to turn it. I think it is around a 22 or 23 millimeter. Then pull the oil cooler off. I just did this yesterday. Good luck.

yeah its a big guy. Its the biggest socket i had in my 1/2in drive metric set. I'll let you know when i get home. Just run some cheap oil for a few miles and a cheap oil filter. Then do another oil change. To flush out the coolant system, just run distilled water through it. make sure you run the engine up to temp to open up the thermostat. Then drain. If it comes out pretty clear then just go ahead and fill with the pink stuff.

Just took off the oil cooler. It was 25 millimeter. I'd rate the job at 2 out of 10. Just waiting for new cooler from germanautoparts.

i think ive used a deep-well 24mm for both that nut, and the oil pressure switch iirc. 25mm or 15/16" will also work, albeit slightly loose.

Do I have to do anything with that oil pressure switch?? I thought the procedure is as follows: Drain oil, Drain coolant, remove oil filter, remove coolant hoses going to the cooler, remove that nut, put new seal, install new oil cooler, install that nut back, install filter, fill everything back and drive happily ever after. Am I missing something?
