Good Aftermarket CD/MP3/Ipod with RED display?

Hey Guys,

Was cruising to work today, and it seems that my current 4-5 year old Kenwood headunit decided to stop playing CD's today entirely.

Was going to do make sure later, but wanted to ask if anyone has any good recommendations for an aftermarket CD/MP3 player with a red display to match the current "All-red" scheme that our car's have?

The Kenwood I had, had a multicolor display, but I set it on it's "red" color setting, and it matched damn near perfect.

So if anyone could offer any suggestions on some good headunits, I'd appreciate it!

i have a pioneer deck, its blue though. At first i was skeptical about the looks but it actually looks really good against the red. really easy to install aswell

That is the headunit I want and I almost bought it to replace a working headunit just because you can change the color to red. My brother recently got an upper mid range alpine deck that can change color from blue to red and it looks like shit when it is on red. The buttons are an opaque blue so they look great blue, but they're really dim and look more pink than red. Not positive that is how they look on the iDA-x300, I would just advise seeing it in person before purchasing. good luck

alpine cda-9884 only complaint i have is the display is a little cheesy. As long as you arent looking for anything special in the display department then its a great deck. Great sound, great features and comes with an ipod aux cable so makes it easy if you are trying to leave your ipod in your glove box. You can control and browse your ipod through the deck itself.

I had that one, it looked good for aftermarket, my only problem was I thought the aftermarket dash kit looked terrible but that had nothing to do with the receiver. At night the buttons looked great with the red. The letters on the display itself are white though. The ipod worked great with it but I thought the factory radio sounded better for am/fm. Definately go with crutchfield though, when i found out i could get my factory code for only 30 bucks i called them and returned it free of charge for a full refund. Even though i returned it, i would say that receiver is definately worth the money.

I have a CDA 9855 and on red it matches the dash very well. I also have the screen set to sleep so it matches a little more. It looks a little orange in the picture but there is an orange option so it is red.

You could also look at some of the Eclipse units. Some of their better models have the option to change, but I just am a fan of the Eclipse units with the 5-7v pre-outs

Ive always thought this Clarion would look great with the aluminum trim. Its a couple years old now but it has 728 color options so I imagine it would be easy to match our interior lights.

If you have a single DIN, then here's what I have:

A Sony GT500 head unit, rear RCA input line for my Zune, or other MP3 player, dual RCA outs for amps, reads MP3's, .WMA, etc ... AND the colored buttons match like 99% to the stock lighting.



I painted the trim around the radio to match the color of the belt trim, which also matches the gray on the faceplate.

If you want to spend some $$ you can get one of the newer Pioneer flip-outs that you can change the button backlights between blue and red.

I'm personally not a fan of the 700bt. With no DVD playback, the slowest start-up times I've ever seen on a navi, lack of necessary amounts of pre-outs for full amplified systems, and terrible touch screen response there are many better options out there. They aren't bad units though if you aren't bothered by those downfalls Just make sure that the one you get comes with the firmware update 2.0.

i just picked this up. Note to those who want this, there is NO cd player in here.

but the Red LED's on this deck is a PERFECT match with the interior. i was damn amazed i have a b7 a4
