This happened to me as well, crazy that it's a somewhat common problem! Mine magically popped off and all 6 bolts that hold that half-shaft to the flang were perfectly intact and nothing else was broken.
Do it yourself, you may not even need a new axle and if you do it's $150 max-ish. With the car on the ground loosen the 17mm hex bolt in the center of your wheel. Jack the car up and take off the wheel. Take out the 17mm bolt you loosened. Put the car on jackstands and put the jack under the hub and jack the hub up to about where it would be normally with the wheel on the ground, and turn your wheels left (cause yours is the front passenger). With it in this position you can wiggle and pull the axle out of the hub and out underneath the car. Pull towards the other side of the car. This is all assuming you do infact need a new axle. Do the exact reverse to install the new axle, just remember to load the inside CV joint with grease. Also, clean the surface that you're sticking the new gasket on (I didn't and it was a HUGE pain to try to line it up when it lost it's tack. Also gasket glue helped keep it in place the second time:)). Make sure to clean the bolts and threaded holes in the flange thoroughly with parts cleaner and use some loctite or else this can happen again. You may want to replace the bolts anyways because I hear that they're one-time use stretch bolts (I reused mine though and have not had any problems.) To re-tighten the axle to flange bolts I had to have two people and lots of extensions to get at them. Make sure the bit is seated well in the bolts though.
If you don't have to replace the axle, then all you have to do is the last part and re-bolt the axle to the flange. Either way an easy DIY and will save you at least a couple hundred!
Need more details with pics, search then ask me if you can't find the DIY's.
