Oy, it was a nightmare to find mine... I ended up getting them from a guy in USA. I've since sold 'em, but they were sweet. I had the BB5's.

There's a real set of 18" BBS RE with R compound tires in the classifieds right now. See Siggiepop.

    Absolutely, ...but not reps

People who know, can spot the reps a mile away...

Well, I owned BB5 reps before owning genuine LMs, and the difference really wasn't huge. From 10 feet you can note the obvious differences if you know where you're looking (chrome plated bolts vs proper BBS stainless... as well as a differently shaped lip), but the BB5 was quite a good replica in terms of aesthetics. But once the chrome on those bolts starts peeling and the wheels start bending, you are reminded of the inferiority. Are BBS 'worth' the cost to buy them new? Tough call. If you want to own them for many years, probably... but otherwise, reps look almost as good and cost 1/5th (or less) of the real deal.

I'll own real LMs again someday... many years from now. Haha :)

You know... I think reps are good enough. They are just wheels for one. and for two... real wheels just give ballers something else to brag about.

Haha, I suppose I could say the same. If people want a fake watch, let them have it. Same goes for wheels.
The real issue is that companies are able to rip off designs to blatantly. You certainly can't expect the majority of people not to buy something because it's a rip-off, though. Some people would pay the premium, but most couldn't afford to if they wanted to. I love the LM look more than anything, but at the time, real ones were impossibly expensive, so I bought reps. I loved them, for the most part.

Ya, I mean, there are 2 schools of thought here. One is simply you like the style and need a set of rollers, so who cares what people think, as you're not trying to be someone you're not. The second is buying (and to extent - supporting ripoff companies), then trying to pass them off as the real deal, slapping BBS caps on replacing the BB5 etc, then hoping everyone *thinks* you baller

It's the second one that is irritating

(same goes for fake watches )

^ could not agree more. You be surprised how many people can't tell a fake one from a real one. There are a lot of gullible people in this world or simply have never seen a real one.
    I've never seen a real Bolex :)

Would you buy alcon/brembo/stoptech caliper covers?

The part people haven't considered here is that BB5's are more likely to fail on the track or other hard driving when compared to BBS wheels. I have seen what happens when a wheel fails at the track and it isn't pretty.

Yeah, no doubt, if you are after quality and want to experience that pride of ownership, then a Rolex or real BBS wheels are certainly the way to go. My LMs were beautifully crafted, light, and strong. You can't expect to have those features at a discount price. But, you can have the look, albeit softer, heavier, and not quite as pretty (or as durable a finish) for a fraction of the price.

BBS should just sell a scaled down version of their most popular wheels... 1 piece cast at 300-400 a wheel. It's not like they'd lose much of the original market, as those who are paying 1400 a wheel are after that combo of looks/strength/weight.

Here is a link for Linea Corse reps. Lot of BMW guys use them and not many complaints. May want to ask what certification the rims have if you are concerned with quality.

I think reps are fine as long as they have either the VIA or TUV certification and many of them do have it.

I think a lot of companies have stopped making LM reps because BBS' lawyers have had a few words with the various manufacturers...

    Miro might still make them...
