    Brutal Ripoff

Just saw a commercial for the new Chevrolet Aveo 5. The most brutal ripoff of an A3 S-line as I could have imagined. I guess if your a sinking ship you look at what is doing well and make a cheap version of it and there will always be losers who buy it. Kind of like fake Oakley eyewear.

Really - I just took a look and didn't think it looked like an A3 at all - not nearly as rounded?

POS with European styling, I am sold! I don't really see a similarity to the A3, maybe its me...

I read that those Aveos are more notorious for their timing belt problems than our Audi's.

    Re: Brutal Ripoff

maybe some similiarities to the grille/fog lights, but thats really about it. chevy's been doin a good job at sinking themselves so let em have at it. why not get mad at diamler for coming up with the caliber as well. another "made in america" design = fail

    Re: Brutal Ripoff

    Doesn't look like an A3.

But speaking of S-lines, I was pumping gas the other day across from an A3. I asked the owner if it was an S-line. He had a pretty blank look on his face and said, "What?" I repeated the question and he said no. I don't think he understood the question

    Re: Brutal Ripoff

No it is not exactly the same but many styling features are taken from our cars. Of course what is typical of these manufacturers is to blend style from a few popular cars, bring them together into what is basically a frankenstein ugly car. Of course Hyundai and Kia have done this for years. The mirrors, grill and lower fog grills, and interior are a very strong similarity.

    Re: Brutal Ripoff

Hyundai and Kia have done it for years because they simply buy the templates of popular older model cars and apply them to their new cars. That is why they can sell their cars for less than most other companies. In recent years though they have established their name and are starting to make their own products.
