What do you like about your B7?

After a hard day at work, getting in my A4 makes me feel comfortable and relaxed. I like the smoothness of the ride and quietness of the cabin. I can yell all my anger out and noone will be able to hear me, especially with tinted windows I feel like I'm in my own world.

When I drive people around too, they are surprised on how comfortable the ride is. It's also the way you drive too. So tell me, what do you like about the B7?

Overall it's a perfect car, for someone that likes class, style, comfortableness and performance. One thing I would change is the seats, they don't really hug me on turns.

Really though, I like the AWD, its why I bought the first A4, and the second one.

I was at the Montreal Autoshow this past weekend, and sat in most of the cars that would be a reaonable competitor (BMW, Merc, VW's, Lexus, Acura and newer Audi's) and inside and out, I still prefer the looks of the B7.

Nothing came close to the interior (ok, the B8 A4 did) and nothing exterior wise, except for the aggressive looks (and much higher price) of the IS-F and Merc C63 AMG.

Don't think I've ever come out of an autoshow thinking that before.

Truth be told, everyone knows about the great things regarding the A4. You can read it in most review magazines.

Being an A4 board, let's be honest, what do you hate or annoy you about the A4.
I can start.

1. Rumbles like a bitch at the stop light (yes it's FSI but that's not really an excuse), quite embarassing when you have people in your car harping that something is wrong with you car. =\
2. Sounds like a diesel engine (again, not really an excuse).
3. Seats aren't very comfortable compared to competitors. Feel stiff. The best seats ever for me is the Volvo S60's..Those are amazing.
4. Room in the back sucks.
5. Brakes squeal like crazy. (not just me)
6. Chubby styling (though the new B8 looks more muscular like it's grown up. (words from the sales guy)

Mind you, these gripes have been resolved in the B8.

The interior is the best in it's class any many classes above it. I also love my Recaro seats, and yes, the fact that it's not a BMW is mostly a good thing, but I still wonder what life would be like if I had gotten the M3 or the 335i instead.

Why don't i agree with any of your points except 2? You can't comlain about rumbling until you drive a 997 gt3 rs.. the engine sounds like its falling apart at a stop light. I've never had a problem with mine being too rumbly. My brakes never squealed in 100k miles in my b6 or the miles ive put on my b7. I love the styling.. its definitely not chubby. Its sporty, which the B8 is not.

What I like about mine is probably the fact that with the options I have all that is left for me to do is drive. The wipers work themselves as do the headlights. I just gotta jump in, find the tunes I want, and go! Everything works so seamlessly, touch wood.

For me, it isn't any one particular thing, but the overall experience of driving and owning one that gets me. True, it's not the most powerful car, but that's not why we bought Audis; if we had wanted pure power, we'd go American or Japanese. It's solid, stylish, and well-respected - which I think applies to the personalities of most Audi owners, too.

The interior is flawless, right down to the placement of each button. From the first time I sat in it, everything seemed to be placed as if the designer read my mind. Anyone who says an A4 is a re-packaged VW is nuts, because the difference between the interior materials says it all. My girlfriend drives a Jetta, and while it's a great car for the value, the interior just isn't even close. I remember reading wise words on this forum a while back; the interior is perhaps the most important part of the car, because it's what you look at and touch each and every time you drive.

Also, keep in mind people are still scratching the surface of what is possible mod-wise with the 2.0T quattro platform. In another year, who knows what'll be out there.

I couldn't imagine making a different decision if I had a second chance to go through the buying process. I love my Audi!

PS - the Lexus IS-F is automatically nixxed for having 100% costmetic and completely non-functional quad-exhaust tips which are in no way attached to the mufflers......really, Lexus....come on now......

Well everything is better than my 1990 maxima with 240k miles i drove before this.

But i love the bluetooh, having a car with factory HID's and projectors, the non bose system is great with 10 speakers (i have had aftermarket systems in my first 2 cars, so im satisfied with the oem system for now since i wasnt expecting much.), The beep it makes when i arm it sounds luxurious, i love that its european. I love the cops not sweating me or pulling me over like they did in my hoopty maxima. I love having a 6th gear. I love that i have the sport suspension so even stock im not riding 4x4 like the non sport suspension. I love the dimming mirrors..........

It's AUTO and AWD.

I test drove a couple at the dealership after I purchased it to make sure, and they were all like that...AUTO and AWD that is.

THe sales guy was like yeah...if you want the vibration to stop, just switch it to Neutral. That's great! His other comment was "we're engineers not magicians".

Don't get me wrong guys, I like to hug Audi's nuts as much as the next guy on here and I will probably drive an Audi till I die but the car has its quirks/issues/downsides as all other cars do.

Just tired of the nuthugging.

Above all, I love that solid-as-a-tank German car feeling it has. It is an absolute BEAST in the snow and ice. Contrary to what most on here say, I'm also very pleased with the power & ride/handling balance it offers in stock form. It's also pretty damn easy on the eyes, inside and out. Great car! Oh... and the adaptive headlights are amazing.

Dislikes are few-- the seats are so-so, I find the rain-sensing wipers very annoying, and um... that's about it!

That about sums it up. I don't mind the sound of the FSI, and I don't hear it at stoplights with the windows up or any sort of music on..

Test drive other FSI small 4cyl turbo engines (like the mazdaspeed3 or 6, which I drove right before buying my A4) and you'll be wondering why Audi didn't pick it up a little bit with the tuning.. but we all know how to take care of that :)

and like someone said earlier.. we're early in the modding stages. I just left the MK3 VW scene, where it's been 10+ years and the power parts are a fraction of the cost, with a much larger database of information stored over the years.

I like the B7 A4 for its clean lines, outstanding interior, comfortable ride (now that I run Eibach Pro + Koni FSD) without compromising handling, amazing fuel economy from the 2.0T and 6sp and it really is fun to drive. When you have to drive a lot for a living, having something comfortable, economical and fun to drive as a winning combination. Needless to say, having Quattro is the proverbial icing on the cake.

interior, as an owner I spend the majority of my time inside the car so having things in easy to reach locations and lots of simple functions make the experience that much better for me....The power with a chip is nice too, kinda gets me all giggly when Im on a on-ramp holding third just to feel the pull and hit 90 in no time...
