Hey guys,
I took my 03' A4 Cabriolet in to the shop to get my rear right window regulator replaced (under warranty) and asked the guys to sand and polish my headlights since my oxidation was really bad and no product I used (PlastX, Pittman's De-Oxidizer, etc) worked. I came back in the afternoon to a new-looking set of headlights. He did tell me that I would need to maintain them that way by waxing them at least once every two months with a plastic UV-resistant wax since the original UV-protective layer might have been sanded off over the years. This made me think. Should I risk the oxidation returning with constant waxing or should I just purchased a UV-protective film. I took the plunge and purchased the X-pel Headlight Protection film for about $55 (shipped). It claims to protect against road debris and UV oxidation. Is this all I need or will I need to continue waxing the headlights to ensure they remain clear? If so, what wax do you guys recommend for the job?
Thanks in advance...
