I've got an extremely noisy, brand new rear slotted rotor. Out of curiosity I went through my old stuff-my OEM pads and rotors and discovered that one pad is chamfred. I believe this pad was from the passenger side rear, outside. I don't know if it's coincidence but this is rotor that is making the noise(it was a thumping originally, now when i step on the brakes it sounds like there's a semi next to me with the engine brake going AND it's getting worse.
Any ideas? The brakes that were removed are definitely OEM. I bought this 2006 B7 with 14K miles in So Cal and it was an off lease and in pristine condition and maintenance was kept up on it from the previous driver/owner.
Could there have been an underlying problem such as a bad rear axle, bad wheel bearings etc that would lead to a dealer to chamfer only 1 pad?
Thanks in advance.
