Grey grille with grey filler insert pics?

I have a black B7 S4 and I either want to order the grey filler plate from ecs or I order the black filler plate with the black out S4 grille and swap the black surround for the stock chrome surround. I like the chrome better. Anyone have pics of either? I searched for grey filler plate but to no avail. Once I get pics I may post a poll with pics of my front end - CC'd with a little something extra.

my vote is black S4 grill w/ aluminum surround or RS4 grill with brushed aluminum surround. the gray is definitely ugly and unlike most on here, i don't like the black out look. i think the aluminum provides a nice contrast and matches the mirrors. here's my progression of grill looks.

In the first picture is your grille still grey or is it black? I like that look but I won't do a europlate (I'll get a ticket in OC). I agree with you: I'm not a fan of the blacked out look at all. So, I can spring for an RS4 grille or the blacked out S4 grille and swap out the chrome surround, OR, just get the grey filler plate. Thanks for the pics though! Your vehicle is quite sexy. =)

you can also paint your existing filler plate black if you need to. I did that and it turned out awesome. The DIY I followed was ironically posted by MOFSTEEL, your first respondent to this thread. Helpful chap. Painting cost $12 and took like 9 minutes of work and about 2 hours of watchin tv in between coats drying. Easy peasy. Ordering a new one will cost you $80 or something stupid.

I went RS4 grill w. brushed aluminium surround (like fastb7s4) + black painted middlefiller/plate holder (which was formerly grey)

The first pic is all stock. Gray grill with gray filler. Black would look like MOF's pic above. The cheapest route would be to get the gray filler plate. They run around $100, but you can probably get one used for much cheaper. Check the classifieds. I think you should swap out grills, though. Either the RS4 or the black S4 w/ chrome surround would look awesome on your black car. The brushed aluminum/chrome surround would make it pop. Just be aware that to swap grills, you're going to have to remove the bumper. You might need a second pair of hands and I heard it's a b*tch to realign the bumper when you go to put it back on.

I'm leaning toward the all black S4 grille but with the chrome around it instead of the black.

I'm down for the non-blackout gang! I may powdercoat my wheels black BUT have someone pinstripe the lip silver again. =)
