Re: how do you keep your sub from moving around?

    Two ways I've done it.

    1) get two eyebolts, put on on each side of the sub, use a motorcycle tiedown

    2) if you have a really nice system and are worried, I'd recommend trying to go underneath the car and see if you cant bolt the sub in through the bottom, so that it would be an absolute bi**h to steal.

I know these are both somewhat permanent solutions, but they work well! But with Audi's I dunno if I would ever try that, haha, I did this in my Expedition and Jeep.

Re: how do you keep your sub from moving around?

i marked where the edges of the sub box were then removed the floor of the trunk, i bolted two L brackets to the floor where i had marked it, once that was done i slid the floor back in. the L brackets hold the box against the passenger side wheel well and the back of the seat.

Re: how do you keep your sub from moving around?

    Velcro seriously.

    That's a non-permanent solution.

If you want a good retention system, I would suggest brackets.
Just be careful, don't drill into your spare tire.

^^ honestly i would have never thought of that because i've never had to worry about keeping a rug from moving. But are you talking about that weird yellowish, foamy, material that you can use to put underneath TV's and stuff too?

I made a bracket like this. It is not the most beautiful thing but it was the easiest, cheapest option I could think of. Also it is easy to remove the sub if I have to, then if the bracket was hidden somewhere.

The metal was bought at Lowes (I think in the masonry section) and I used the screw holes around the sub to secure it to the box. Then I drilled a hole into a piece of metal on the inside top of the trunk and secured the other end of the bracket (with a 90* bend) with a bolt and rubber washers that I had at the house.

Not to be too off topic here but duct tape actually isn't supposed to be used on ducts. Ironic huh? They use this special shiny silver tape now.

Mine weighs around 60 pounds she doesen't move. With My old one what I had to do was put a peice of wood where the dip in the trunk floor is to level it out then i bought some L brackets and bent them to the right angle and drilled it into the wood and into the box, never moved even when I decided to hot rod it. :D
