    apr chip

I'm pretty sure my s4 has an APR chip in it. On APR's website they say to press and hold down the "set" button for the cruise control to change programs. I tried this on mine but the CEL doesn't blink and nothing happens. There's another "res" button right by the cruise control and this makes the CEL blink. I think there's 2 programs on it but i cant really tell how many times the CEL blinks. Is there any way i can find out how many programs are on the chip and what they are set as? also why does it use the "res" button when apr specifically says to use the "set" button? Thanks for any help

That's weird..what makes you think it's an APR chip? I'm just asking because most people know what kind of software they are running. Did you buy it recently? Maybe you can ask the previous owner and contact APR about the cruise control flipswitch. Never seen that before.

    Re: apr chip

holding down the reset button clears CEL and also does a tb adaption. Press and hold the set button for a time (each second it will blink the CEL light) after 5 blinks it will then blink 2x(per sec) meaning your in program 2 release the set when you are on the program u want.

    Re: apr chip

you hold the + button... the outer most button in.. and it should flash the CEL... you can see how many slots .. by the different types of flashes..

    slot 1 = one flash ..
    slot 2 = double flash

    etc.....

no way of seeing what programs you have on there... but if it's a soldered chip like mine (well the one i'm selling) new programs can be just put onto the slots .. and then there's no questions to what it is

if it's just a "flash" ... no go sir..

if it ends up you don't have a chip ... feel free to consider buying mine =)

    Re: apr chip

Ok i think i figured it out. I bought my car from a small car dealer and they didn't even know if it had a chip or not. The car had APR DP and Exhaust when i bought it, that's why i think it most likely has an APR chip too. I'm pretty sure it only has one program that's why nothing happens when i hold down the "set" button. My CEL was previously on from a misfire and after messing with the reset button my CEL disappeared. Now im just not sure if i have it on 91 octane or 93 octane setting.

    it should blink.....

just because you have an apr downpipe - exhaust doesn't mean the previous owner didn't take 2 minutes out of his night to remove the APR ecu and slap an OEM one back in there.

do you have a boost gauge? anything above 7-8PSI then you're chipped =)

or else log it with VAG.. and you can see there as well ...

That's an APR ECU. It's an older EMCS board.
