Do i replace or not replace? drove on flat tire!

hey guys

Last week i noticed my tire had low air but i thoguht nothing of it, since it was -35 celceus! so driving along i noticed the car kept gonig to the left, got out it was flat. so i drove to the closet gas station, 2 blocks. So anyways filled up the tire , i then brought it to the shop and they said i need to replace it b/c the inside of the tire was damaged, he showed me the rubber that had come off!

So before i let him order it, he told me the tire was discountinued but tire rack had 4 left in all of north america! so the tire's running fine and everything with no problems, keeps air and drives fine,! i woudlnt change it but i'm going for a 5 hour drive this weekend and was wondering if i may or may not run into any problems? or should i be ok ?

anyone have experience with this?

pics of damage for assesment? go get a second opinion? use full size spare for road trip and damaged tire only in case of emergency?

dont have pics but it is a winter tire and my spare is 18in and my winters are 17?

Why chance it? Is your car or your life worth less than a tire?

why would you risk it? just buy a new tire or if they are really worn buy 4 new tires and call it good.

Most tire shops can inspect the inner liner of the tire for any abrasions or "dimples", which would indicate the liner has been damaged and the tire needs replacement.
