    Lightbulb GT S4...Five or Six?

Hey guys, I'm Dave and I'm and audioholic, I need some help... so I have a race-ready S4 chassis with two options, the AAN turbo 5-cylinder fully-built solid lifter (Dialynx race cams) with an 034 header using a GT40R and the custom 034 intake. The V6 is fully built (ported heads/ Cat solid lifter cams)with Vast headers and (would be Gt2871r's with a .63 ar)
I am not sure which one to do because I love both engines and the AAN 5 banger I have almost all the parts I need, sooo..to finish the 5 cylinder would be less expensive. I am def. eventually going to put the V6 in, I just need so much more time and money.
    What do you think?

v6... if its going in eventually, why not work out the kinks in it now instead of having to do that with the 5... plus it's easier to throw in the v6 because it's stock dude.

i love the AAN motor. but it's been done a million times over. i'd like to see what a solid lifter BT 2.7t motor can do

you'll only have to deal with one valve train, and two less cams. you'll have more to concentrate on, and it should be a tad bit less expensive.

what size is the 5 cylinder going to be? larger than 2.7?

I would go with the 5, that motor is super potent, and quite a bit more reliable than the 2.7t.

True, I wish I could do the 5 banger and then the 6, but that might take a long time too, I am also worried about how far over the front axle the 5 is, its a really long block to put in there, shit, I have such a sweet Sach twin disc for the 5, Im really stuck with this one, the six would be easier but the turbos, intercoolers, blah blah blah, custom fuel rails, there is so much left on the list that I need to get, chassis work and bodywork is starting to leave the motor bank dry, preparing a racecar from scratch is def harder than I ever thought it would be, I have done some things 3 times already...its the never ending money-pit toy...gotta LOVE IT!

    Re: GT S4...Five or Six?

I love the 5 cyl. A few years ago, 4 out of the 5 cars we had were the 2.2 5cyl and they all had alot of miles on them. Great engines, but I dont know if I would put that into a b5 S4. Yes it would be cool, but is it worth the time and effort if your going to put the 6 back in? I personally dont think so. I would rather by an older s4, 95.5 and your 5 cyl in their. Its stock and drops right in. Or if you want something a little more challenging by a coupe quattro or an 80 or something of a smaller older audi. Then that will fly with a crazy built 5.

Either way, Im interested in what you end of doing. Good luck with it.
