Well it's better to do a baseline run when you're stock and then see how you compare after the fact (all on the same dyno). Peak power of dynos really is meaningless. A dyno is a tuning tool first and foremost. If you want to use it as a measuring stick, it's best to run your car stock before any mods to really see the increase in power after your mods are complete. CPT Dyno
You can see the rather large difference between my stock dyno and custom-tuned stage 3 ASP dyno. Both were done at CPT here in Chicago. My car is very strong comparatively speaking. Most stage 3 cars on 93 octane on CPT's dyno will be somewhere between low 300's and 350...all depending upon which software, custom tune, etc. Every car is different so it's really best to compare against your own car, which is why I dynoed mine bone stock. :-)
