Found this site which obviously includes info for all the bulbs and sizes...

My question is, who has experienced good and bad problems with upgraded bulbs...Im leading toward HOEN, and as of right now, they have all the bulbs I would need..

They are going in ECS's Valeo Headlamps, they didnt come with turn signal bulbs since they are clear housings so I have to order them anyways.

Bout to order these after I hear some thoughts or advice...
    LOWS/HIGHS: Hoen H7 xenonmatch plus pair 80w
TURN SIGNAL: Hoen 1156 Chromium indicator bulb pair
FOGS : Hoen H11 plus bulb pair 80w
    Plate Lights : Hoen 6418 / C5W bulb pair
City Lights : Hoen W5W city light - high output incandescent bulb

Can you run the 80w bulbs without melting the housing?

80watts is too much, go with something lower. You might melt something, if you plan on using for a longggg period of time.

I am running the stealth auto bulbs, havent had a problem with them. The fogs, I had and never used because I went with HID fogs, then my current set up. I have seen them in person and they look really good.

i dont think you will be unsatisfied with the setup.

Re: Best Bulbs for Headlamps (lows, highs, turn signals, city lights)

bumping an old thread, having same issue. I want to get the Hoen fogs, but kind of wanted matching low & high beams. The H7s are high wattage (plus = 80w, titanium=70w) and I don't want to get an upgraded harness and have to deal with soldering and splicing, so I'm hesitant to order these. I don't want to look like one of those idiots with the clearly fake HIDs that go out in 2 weeks because the bulbs got so hot they exploded, or even worse the harness or housing melted. The hoen site is worded in a very vague manner:

"The xenonmatch plus is our most powerful HID look lighting product and produces a 4,000K white light output. Connector or harness upgrade is recommended on older vehicles."

Makes it sound like older vehicles only?

"When installed in reflector based lighting systems the Höen xenonmatch plus system outperforms retrofitted HID upgrade systems for considerably less investment and glare. As with all bulbs 70w or higher heavy duty connectors and / or a harness upgrade is recommended for optimum lighting performance."

    Implies you better upgrade.

I'm thinking I might try the titanium, they are a little less hot than the plus? Does anyone have experience with a 70w bulb in the stock halogen (non projector) housing?

Any recommendations for a DRL bulb replacement? I don't think I saw one in this thread but I want something that produces a more "pure white" color rather than the usual "sleepy" halogen look.

This is an ultra n00b question, but what is the difference between the DRLs and the city lights? When are the city lights on?

The DRLs are Daytime Running Lights. If your light switch is in Auto and it's daylight out (or you turn your switch to OFF), your main lights will not be on. Instead, your DRLs kick in. They are the bigger looking 1156s mentioned.

City Lights come on when you twist your light switch to one of the on settings or if it's dark out and they are on Auto. They are the much smaller W5Ws or 168s that you can find at AutoZone and the like.

I circled them in the picture below to give you an idea of where they are, but look at the opposite housing to see them clearly once you know where to look.
