i know they ran the RS6 in speedvison GT Cup for like 2 years and it won just about everything, its pretty much the same chassis

also heres a pic of an A6...that ran in the britcar series in the UK...not sure if its a 2.7T or 4.2....i doubt its a RS6, it doesnt have RS6 tail lights.

Re: Anybody run their C5 in NASA or SCCA?

Thanks for the pics Frank. I remember watching the Audis run in GT. Those were recently selling on eBay for like $200K IIRC. And, I still remember the first time I saw the Britcar C5, I about crapped my pants when I saw the true WIDE body look. And, the single door was pure sex to me!

BUT, those are WAY more than what I'm going after. Mine is my DD/grocery getter/kid transporter/therapy. So, I am looking to do some HPDEs with NASA, perhaps getting up to group 3. I'm more interested in NASA than I am SCCA at the moment. But, am hoping to hear some people's experience (if any) with their C5s.

Loose alot of weight!!!!! The car that is, lol.
Nice pics. I would guess the second one is a 4.2. Only because the side mounted intercoolers are kind of blocked off. Unless it has a FM or some fancy duct work. Just an off topic thought...

I run my M3 in NASA - group 2 HPDE. If you do run HPDE, make sure that your car is in pretty good shape. NASA requires that each car pass tech check before they start the day. The closest thing to running my C5 in HPDE, would be my previous A4. Try audiworld.com there are folks over there that have taken their C5s to track events.

Thanks. My car is in good shape and I've been slowly building it up over the last year. Actually, the reason I chose to post this question now is because she's in shop getting a new TB. That and new brakes is just about all that has been holding me back from getting out there. Once I hit *my* magic TB #, I decided to get it done. Brakes?..Brakes?...

    I'll check audiworld...Thanks again.

Sounds like your on your way. You'll have a blast. Just make sure you have enough fuel to last the event - I've seen cars get black flagged for running out of fuel on the track. :-)

    Good luck on the event.

I wonder if I still hold the track record there in PTC? It was in a Honda Accord wagon...

Re: Anybody run their C5 in NASA or SCCA?

hell yeah! roadracing in the audi!! !! Make sure to empty EVERYthing out of the car from owners manual to tool-kit in the trunk... If you want to really stay on the track for an actual race you'll need a few inexpensive items!!!

#1 good brakes!!! stainless steel lines! high performance brake fluid (motul), good race pads and rotors or a big brake kit...

#2 Oil cooler and trans fluid cooler! those parts can be purchased at vast performance...after about 11-14 hot laps the trans and oil temp could get hot

#3 put an open air filter intake on it to really allow it to breathe..

#4 RACEGEAR!! if your doing an hpde you wont need a race suit or hans device...just a good helmet...

#5 PLENTY OF MONEY FOR GAS,FOOD,BS, ENTRY FEE'S, SAFETY ITEMS IF THE TRACK REQUIRES IT.....

I do track days at Summit Point Raceway and when I go I take an extra set of pads and rotors front and back, plenty of brake fluid, engine oil w/ filter, windex,a set of wheels and tires if possible.. and at least 24 bottles of water in an icy cooler!!! man season is getting close! cant wait...first nasa hpde is at VIR in feb!!! Cheers and good luck!! Make sure to take some pics!!!! ps the car will have to go through safety inspection before you go so tie that battery down, make sure ALL your fluids are up to par, make sure you have a ton of tread on your tires bc you'll be eating them up!!!!
