    Question about Audi roadside assistance

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well, it just happened. This entire week, it was freezing cold here with the warmest temp being -5F. Did not want to drive the A4 so left it outside since last monday and put my daily driver in the garage to keep it warm when leaving in the morning. This afternoon, i wanted to take the A4 for a little ride and it sputtered a bit and then, nothing. The battery is good and cranking, the starter runs perfect but it is as if there was no spark burning the fuel or no fuel being supplied to the engine at all. Even jump started with the daily driver to make sur it was not the battery but still nothing and I can hear the fuel pump buzzing when i open the diver side door. My question is, will I have to pay out of my own pocket to have it put on a flatbed and brought to the dealer tomorrow if i still have the original audi warranty with the 24h roadside assistance?
    Thanks for any input

you should be able to just call that road side assistance and they will take care of it unless your warranty is up. I dont have it but im sure it works just like insurance. Call them and find out.

as long as your under warranty... call audi roadside assistance... BE SURE TO REQUEST A FLATBED BECAUSE SOMETIMES THEY FORGET TO TELL WHICHEVER TOWING SERVICE THEY CALL... and whichever towing service they bring out will take your car wherever you want it... they will bill audi for it.

^^Also find out which towing company is going to tow and call them and make sure they got the word on a flatbed, when i had to tow my car once my insurance company forgot to tell the towing company to bring a flatbed, and i had to wait around forever for one.

Thanks for the quick response everybody. I still have remaining audi original warranty, just have 32K on the car and had it for almost 2 years. I will be requesting a flatbed, nothing else for the quattro.

Before towing it to the dealer and having them put it into the nice warm service bay where they'll either "find no problem" or make something bogus up for a warranty repair, might I suggest you put the Audi into the warmer garage and maybe heat up that garage first? You might have had water in your fuel line and with the extreme cold, that's all it takes for a no-start. I always add some HEAT in the winter ever since that happened to me a few years ago. The last thing I ever want is for a dealership service tech to work on my vehicles; they're paid for speed, not thoroughness and they tend to handle customer cars without care...even at Mercedes and Lexus dealerships.

yea i should have mentioned it earlier, the problem is more likely your coilpacks... heat + freezing weather + snow probably created condensation and therefore caused your coilpacks to fail... I'd still get it towed and have them check it out before they store it inside... like... go with tow truck... talk to the dealership and ask them if they can check it out on the spot.

Re: Question about Audi roadside assistance

lol, I was too lazy to change my flat tire once, so I called roadside assistance... well actually, the car was brand new had it for only a week, and it did not come with the tool to remove the lug bolt COVERS. I thought audi's roadside assistance was professionals with professional tools. Anyway, it tool them like 50 minutes to get there, it was an outsourced company in a old beat up tacoma. He did not have the tool either and ended up using a screwdriver and scratching my rim... that was when I decided not to use audi roadside again.

There should be a little black plastic clip thingy to remove the covers stored in the box with the lug wrench.

I think the problem in my case was.. they just gave me the wrong tool package for my car.. The standard wheels don't come with those covers.. theres a big cover in the center that just covers them all.. I had the sline wheels which do have the little covers.. so I guess they didn't give me the right tool.. They did however give me the little tool to remove the bigger cover on the regular wheels... the little metal ring tool.. lol
