I am really likin the idea of Audi getting away from the n/a V8 and I am thinking it might be nice to be S4 shoppin later in 2010 A good part out could raise some nice downpayment cash (not now so settle down you vultures) !

Better invest in something solid now so you can afford the gas in 2010!

But if we are wanting to dream then I'm hoping to import an RS4 Avant in 2010 and throw a bunch of my goodies on it.

    Re: Anyone else thinking a S/C S4 in 2010 sounds good ?

why....what's going to happen to gas prices in 2010?

oil's about to touch $30 and unless there's a GIGANTIC turnaround in the economy in the next week, we'll see oil well under $70 for the next 3-4 years.

the economy is a big giant cargo ship...hard to stop once it's going in a certain direction, and takes ages to turn the other way

And the economy right now is plowing into a big ice berg, or is the other way around :)

If the S5 comes in a S/C in 2010 I will have to reconsider my plans !

    Re: Anyone else thinking a S/C S4 in 2010 sounds good ?

As long as they price it reasonably, and it gets here by the fall, I'm all over an S4. Similar power, more torque, MUCH better fuel economy; what's not to like. I wish it was a tad more aggresive, but rims should help significantly.

Since they've said it'll be cheaper than the outgoing model, and it should be slightly cheaper than an S5, I'm hoping for a nicely equipped S4 at $67K or so. I have to replace my car by October ish, so I'm hoping that timing works.

Magazine I read it in said starting pricing should be $49,000 US with a few basic options so check and see where the S4 is now and you will know.

pricing should be just below the S5 pricing (very close, but slightly lower)

Go on the site, price out an S5 and knock $1000-2000 off...that's what I reckon the new S4 will sell for.

    Re: Anyone else thinking a S/C S4 in 2010 sounds good ?

The S4 should be lower than the S5 pricing, given the whole structure of the model lineup. How much less, no idea since the two cars are pretty well the same when similarly equipped.

The one thing that the S4 has that the S5 doesn't is that sport differential. That would be something I would want if I was looking at a S model. I'm guessing that the S5 will probably have it when it switches over to the supercharged engine.

    Re: Anyone else thinking a S/C S4 in 2010 sounds good ?

That was my thinking as well; it's how I got to the $67K number I quoted. I basically loaded up an S5, and took $1500 off.

Even if I'm +/- a couple thousand, I'm still happy. If it creeps up too close to a C63, then the decision becomes a little harder, but I still prefer the quattro (and fuel consumption!) of the Audi.

Anyone know when they're due in Canada? I think the last thing I heard was fall?
