BT inlet pipe pics? i need ideas ASAP

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
next week im installing a 50 trim setup to replace this GTRS . i think ive got almost everything all figured out. however, im still trying to decide how to do the inlet pipe. i have to retain all the stuff on the stock TIP (PCV, DV, and EVAP line is it?)

we can weld aluminum at the shop where we're doing the install too....

im using the ATP "log" mani, which puts the turbo inlet pretty close to the front of the bay...anyone have some pics they would want to share...or have any suggestions? i only have just a few days to pick up stuff to make this with...

i was just thinking taking a 90* or 135* silicone coupler to a pipe with the 1", 3/4", and 1/4" ports welded on...but who knows.....

ANY input would be awesome!!! thanks so much!!!!!!!

Should be able to just use a 3" 90 deg bend, then do pipe from there with the fittings for all the stuff you need to run back to it.

Do it so you go down, then under the rail and put the filter behind the fog light.

Kind of like this B6 setup, but this has a 4" to 3" 90 where you most likely just need a 3" to 3".

Shawn? He runs mafless and has a filter mounted right to his turbo. Well did seeing that he is selling all the parts off his A4 and putting it back to stock. BTW Shawn is A4ringedONE8T

But I think you really meant to say David which goes by A4 TSCHUSS.

Only if they plan on driving thru a river at WOT. You only have to worry if you actually submerge the whole filter into water.

they only real issue ive read about the setup with the maf under the frame rail is with john baas' (im pretty sure it was him) setup. he said at higher speeds turbulent air was messing with maf readings, he said he covered the front part of the filter with tape and that helped a lot. i cant find the link right now, ill have to search more.

I think thats because his maf was right at the filter. He most likely only saw that issue at high speeds but very little throttle. If you put the maf in the spot where the pipe is going up to the turbo it shouldn't be an issue.

Pretty sure it still has A/C, but when I go back outside to the car I will look.

anyone know of a way to get the filer to end up by the fender well? (were the flter would be if you put a cone filter on the MAF of a stock setup) i thought of just using a 90* or a 135* silicone coupler, but i think the headlight is in the way....

also, how long are the MAF wires?

I'd like to see some ideas too.

Also for any sponsors, this might be a way to make some extra cash since no one really makes one other than that ATP 90 bend which is not really an intake setup as far as I'm concerned.

034 just came out with a new hose for the elims that run a 3" maf. The turbo end is 2.5", I wonder if they could get one made that was 3" on both ends.

Very hard to turn it that direction with the ATP manifold since it puts the turbo so far forward.

If 034 makes one with all the EVAP, DV, N75...etc outlets in 3" on both end, i am 100% sure that i am one of the customers getting it

yes 3" on both sides would be a great option. if only... in a perfect world. it would make things much easier

I'd settle for (or rather, prefer) just a 3" aluminum bend that would go down then fit under or over the frame rail to put the filter back into the stock airbox area since I don't have a need for all those extra ports since I don't run a N75 and I am MAFless.

Would the position of the elim even work with a full gt28rs setup anyway? I always thought those turbos sit in a completely different position.

Yes they do sit in a different spot. The main idea is to see if they will just make a full 3" version that would just get the maf/filter back into the stock air box area for a setup that would be using a ATP side mount manifold. This way people would have one solid piece going over that way instead of trying to piece things together. I have already brought this up with the guys at 034 and they might look into it.

Im going gt28rs in the next month and I also want to retain the factory stuff. I'm going to make my own out of steel most likely. If anyone is interested after I make mine and it works good. I would be able to make some and sell them for a small profit.

One thing on my mind is how to connect the N75 to the compressor housing? The housing doesnt have a vacuum port. Any ideas?
    Unitronic tuned. love it.

Need any services done in NYC area please PM me. I will diagnose and fix your car. Also do clutch replacements, Timing-belt services, Turbo upgrade/installation, Fluid changes, boost leaks and pretty much anything.

I searched but the pics were deleted. I found out that I will need to weld or drill and tap a barb vacuum fitting on the outlet of the turbo.

You can also do it on the IC pipe or hose that connects to the compressor housing outlet.
