Hello and welcome to the first Audizine Newsletter for 2009. We're back with our usual monthly wrap-up of the latest happenings around The Zine. Included you will find the latest Industry News from the past month, as well as details on January's Featured AZ'er. We end the newsletter with our traditional shout-out to the companies joining or returning to our group of Official Audizine Advertisers.

At the top of the newsletter you'll find information on our current Official Monthly Poll. This month we want to know what you think of the new models coming down the pipeline from Audi. It's going to be an interesting year as the dealer lots will be filled with more models and purchasing options than ever. From an all-new ultra-sexy convertible, to a smaller more fuel efficient SUV, to the most powerful production sports car Audi's ever released, the options vary greatly yet are all exciting in their own right. Which one intrigues you most?

It's the new year and that means we have our first Featured AZ'er of 2009. This is also the first time we're featuring an A6. Sure it took us a full year of feature articles to finally get to the A6 model-line, but we feel that the bad-boy you see here will make up for it. The owner, Frank (AKA: FrankA6), may have only owned his Audi for about a year now but he's in it all the way. He's 100% dedicated to the European tuner scene, to the Audizine Community, and he has certainly hooked his car up nicely. This was more than enough to get him noticed, even if he doesn't think so. As you can see by the accompanying photos it's a stunner in both summer and winter mode. More

Audi is "light" years ahead with world's first LED headlights

The order book opened in Europe for the V10 engined Audi R8 this month (1 January) and with it the German car manufacturer demonstrated another element of its pioneering Vorsprung durch Technik technology. The range-topping R8 is the first car in the world to be equipped with all-LED (light emitting diode) headlamps. For the first time the high intensity diodes have been used for low beam and high beam settings, as well as for daytime running lights and indicators, intensifying the sports car's visual drama. More

Black is the new white for the Audi A3

New Audi A3 Black Edition models emerge from the shadows this month to join the popular three-door, five-door Sportback and Cabriolet ranges. Combining dark and brooding looks with an exceptional specification that takes the top S line model as its basis, the new limited run A3 range can be ordered now and will reach most European dealers in early February. To set the tone, Black Edition models feature a de-chromed front grille and, in the Cabriolet versions, black surrounds for the roll bars and the shoulder line. More

Audi TT range gathers momentum for 2009

The sporting essence of the TT has been further distilled by the addition of new quattro four-wheel-driven versions of the Coupe 2.0 TFSI and Roadster 2.0 TFSI. At the same time, S line specification, the performance-oriented trim level of choice for the majority of European Audi customers, becomes available across the perennially popular TT range. The new S line option lends an even more purposeful air to the TT's unmistakable lines through an S line-specific front grille treatment, exclusive S line front and rear bumper design, side sill extensions and, for four-cylinder models, chrome trimming for the exhaust tailpipes. I'd like to once again thank everyone at Audizine for a great 2008, and for what's already been an amazing start to 2009! The past few months saw a very successful cancer benefit group-buy, by the means of an all-new clothing design, and also our first ever official print calendar. Speaking of that, we recently received another shipment of t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts, so the Audizine Store has been updated with our current inventory. A number of sizes and colors were out of stock, but no longer. We also have a handful of Audizine 2009 Wall Calendars left which are also available for purchase in the Audizine Store...but not for long!

One last thing I'd like to mention is the posting milestone that was recently achieved. You might have seen the contest we held to celebrate hitting 3 million posts, but if not you can still check out that fun "little" thread which is still charging along like a runaway freight train. And of course congrats to the winning AZ'ers that got themselves some free Audizine gear for being the lucky posters up in there. Three million is a lot of damn posts, and makes me wonder just how many we'd have now if we'd started using this forum software when we first launched the site back in 2001! Ah well, we're still here and kickin' which is all that really matters.
