HELP! EPC & ESP, sounds like cylinder misfire!

15k miles, and i go out just now to start my car. it's about 14, and i store my car in the garage. it's been fine for the past three days of sub-zero temps. when i start it, it sounds fine, but i have both the ESP and EPC lights on! just as i'm about to look up in the manual wtf the EPC light would be doing on, the car starts running REAL rough (shaking the whole car!) and sounds like one or more cylinders isn't firing!

the sob story: it's my only vehicle and no service places in Milwaukee are open till Monday.

what would this be? coil packs? PCV? DV?

this is a $35k car! at 15k miles it's doing this?

call the dealer thats ur best bet

with those temps, the throttle bodys tend to freeze up from moisture and the potentiometers dont like the restricted movement, the EPC light is probably on because of the t.body, take it to the dealer.

well, i called a tow company to get my car to the dealer. when the truck showed up, i fired up the car again so i could put it in neutral. the EPC & ESP lights came on, but the engine was running fine. after a minute or so, the lights went off, and i hadn't moved the car. it's now run fine for about 4-5 hours of driving across 3 trips since then. the soonest the dealer could get me in is wednesday. i'll post back here with what they find.

hey, well, i'm an ass. said i'd post back with what they find. what they found is codes that match what would be thrown if the PCV froze up or had a chunk of ice stuck in it. no replacement or repair necessary.

hi there and sorry for the necrobump but it's better then starting a new thread.
So I have same symptoms in my car right after start. Ruff idle ESP and EPC, limp mode. Since I'm in southern FL, there is no way it's weather related :/ I've just replaced DV a week ago. what could it be? Coil Packs, PCV? damn
