    15 month vvme issues...

I installed 3000k vvme HIDs in my Valeo fogs oct. of 07, and just after the holidays the pass. side fog crapped out.

drove to my girlfriends house with it on, went to leave and it would not work. I cant see what is causing this, no changes were made in that time, nothing that could have damaged a ballast or bulb, etc.

I checked the fuse but the same fuse controls both fogs and the driver side works so thats where that ends. next step is to check the ground and work my way back to the light.

Just figured I would look for opinions before I take my already broked tab headlights out again and risk not getting them back on

i had a similar problem with my drivers headlight, i took my headlight out and made sure all my wires were connected properly, i disconnected them from the ballast and reconnected them and it seemed to fix whatever problem i had. if you email vvme they will send you a new ballast for like $20.

ya i know, this one is already my second, the initial ballast was damaged in shipping and i couldnt be bothered to send it back.

ill try to unplug it and reconnect, if that fails ill check my wiring (however, i dont think its going to all of a sudden be a wiring issue)

well the wires might have wiggled loose or something. i think thats what happened in my case. the ballast on my driver's side is sitting on top of my SMIC its not strapped down just wedge under the headlight.

plug the bulb from the working side into the other and verify that the ballast does not work. Maybe you just need a new bulb

try swapping the entire fog HID assembly to the low beams and see if that power source works.

    Re: 15 month vvme issues...

ugh...went out in the cold and snow and checked the grounds=OK.
decided fuck it, ill go one step further even though i cant feel my fingers, toes, or ass, lol. swapped the fog to the driver side (in doing so i realized 2 of the 3 tabs on the driver side were broken) turned the fogs on, the bulb/wires after the ballst=OK.
put the driver side fog backed in...ghetto rigged with cable ties but snug...yay!
left the pass. side fog out, wrapped up and tucked away the wires.

I tried to take out the headlight to at least remove the ballast and make sure the rest of the wires were ok but the tab is so fucked i cant even get it off.

looks like i need to order a new ballast and a new tab...ugh, somehow now im worse off than when i started.

vvme ballasts suck, ive blown two and i have only had the HID kits since september! but they do look nice, i bought another kit to keep spare stuff around, cant beat 70 shipped for 2 more bulbs/ballasts!
