    hey all im thinkin of puttin an amp in my car and was wondering of anyone on here know what wires to tie into to hook it all up? thanks in advance

    You need to buy all the wiring. First you need to find out how big of wiring your amp will accept (4 Gauge, 8 Gauge), and the match that to how much you're pushing (500W, 1000W Max). Then once you figure that out, you might need an extra battery depending on how big the amp is so that it doesn't drain your car battery every hit. You can get a capacitor too, but they don't work as well. Pretty much need more info. But I would recommend googling stereo installation or amp installation, something like that, and you should find step by step DIY.

    you can buy the vw/audi stereo removal keys from most online car audio sites. you could make your own but it's a PITA. you will need an amp wiring kit. the wire gauge varies based on how powerful the amp is. if you are planning to hook it up to your oem stereo you will need a hi/lo rca converter, they're pretty cheap.

    you can tap the headunit wires go give the amp a signal. you can also tap at the stock amp (in the trunk). there is a full writeup on a4mods.com on what wires to tap.
