    hey guys

My 2.8 is approaching 130,000, i have'nt done anything to the car maintenance wise, just performance wise. what am i going to be looking at as far as stuff that's going to break in the next 20,000 thousand miles. Also what should i deffinatley replace because of safety, if anything? Also if you can add in approximate prices.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: high mileage maintenance

The short list assuming you mean literally done nothing but oil changes..

1)Timing Belt, water pump, thermostat, belt tensioner, coolant change.
    $3-400 self $9-1100 stealership
    2)Brake pads, rotors,fluid change,replace lines
    3)Oil, air filter
    4)Rear wheel bearing
    5)Tie rods
    6)Dash display

If you search you will find more I am sure

allright well, have the intake mod done with k&n, exhaust, its lowered, new brake rotors and pads at 95,000 along with timing belt job. other then that i wanted to know what i would be looking to replace like wheel bearings, control arms, stuff like that.

    Re: high mileage maintenance

well with things like tie rods and control arms and bearings... just wait until they wear out to replace them... no use jumping the gun and spending money when you could still get a lot of miles out of the oem parts

i would only think about doing control arms and tie rod ends if you have some gnarly clunking going on, otherwise you're probably ok. if your timing belt was done at 80k like it should have been, you can probably wait at least another year on that.

i would do 034 density line mounts... they are not very expensive, you can change them yourself, and they're like a double whammy performance/maintenance upgrade

    Re: high mileage maintenance

sounds good man, thanks i am not trying to jump the gun and spend money that i dont have my concern is that i am doing 60 miles a day commuting to school, 30 each way.
So sometimes i tend to drive the car pretty hard in rush hour trying to get home as fast as i can. It a safety concern for me i dont want to be doing a 100-110 and have something stupid break that i should have fixed, you know what i mean.
