Trying to do my control arms, can't seem to remove my break calipers

Hi guys, I'm trying to do my control arms, but I can't seem to remove my brake calipers. The 7mm hex bolts that hold the caliper to the caliper bracket don't seem to be bolts at all, they are perfectly round on both the outside and the inside. Not like rounded off, but machined round. Anyone ever see this before? Thanks for the help.

    its 18mm.

remove the two bolts holding the caliper bracket to the knuckle, its the easiest way to remove the caliper.

make sure you support the caliper, whatever you do don't let it hang by the brake hose. I use bungee-cords.

if you are replacing control arms why are you trying to take the caliper off? just leave it on work around it.

Now that is a lot of brass air fittings http://www.liangdianup.com/subpages/airfitting_1.htm there is just about every type
of air fitting that you could want. Wholesale prices too. I guess these could be used as small water pipe fitting also. I
used some of the parts to make my babington wvo burner.

Use some WD to help it get loosey goosey or something equivalent. Are you using air tools or by hand?

WD40 wont do it i ran into the same problem trying to take a set of stoptechs off, only thing to really be able to do is get a butane torch and heat em up(wait until the wd40 dries) i mean we tried everything to get those 18mm bolts off and nothing even with a 2ft breaker bar they just wouldnt budge.

I'm gonna try to work around them, but its looking like I'm gonna need to use a butane torch on several other bolts that I can't get to budge.

The caliper bolts are 18mm or 21mm, depending on model year.

Re: Trying to do my control arms, can't seem to remove my break calipers

to get my caliper bolts off it took my car being on a lift, lots of PB Blaster and a 3-foot breaker bar

But to second others, you should be able to work around them. I never removed mine to replace any control arms.
