Need help: EPC Light - No Power or throttle response

I searched thru some threads but couldn't find an exact same scenario.

I was driving on the highway in traffic doing about 60 mph and as I step on the throttle, EPC light comes on and the car starts to die with no acceleration. I am able to coast to the side of the road, restart and everything is fine until a few hours when I drive back and it happens again.

I VAG'ed it and here is the code:

17521 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor: B1 S1: Internal Resistance too High
P1113 - 35-10---Intermitent

I've had a bad O2 sensor for a while but never had this problem until today. I just got my K04 chip yesterday and it is also the coldest day of the year.

Any possible way it could be related?
