So this is what's up, and i can't find anything out there about it, other than one other post where someone had the same problem, bu tnothing on fixing it. I have a rattle coming from my transmission, it does it intermittently, and undr various different conditions;
1 There's a steady one while idling, clutch out and in neutral. I know that is my lightweight flywheel.
2 Sometimes i get one when the car is in neutral and the clutch is in, it is verry irregular, and sounds like a marble bouncing around or something.
3 Now i have one that i hear mostly in 2-4 gears, when i let off the accelerator, but am still in gear and coasting, it goes away immediately when i put the clutch in, and comes back when i let it out. I do hear it when accelerating, but not as pronounced. As well, i hear it in 1st, and i heard it in reverse, I just don't spend as much time in those gears.
A couple of weeks back i was driving and all of a sudden, i couldn't shift. The car absolutely wouldn't go into gear. i made it home rev matching, and the next day it was fine. Then i bled the clutch, around this time i first started hearing rattle #2. Now, 2 days ago i start hearing rattle #3. I get under my car and see that there is oil leaking from the tranny. I look up to where it is coming from, and it is leaking from the seal where the rod goes in for the shifter for gear selection. Im not sure if the rattle is coming from here or somewhere else. If i were a deaf man, other than the one day when it did not shift, i would know of no problem. I have noticed no drivability issues, other than the same cla-clunk when shifting from 1st to 2nd that alotta people get.
I hope someone on here can help. I'm not really sure what is going on, i may have many many problems...
