Remove headlight error icon w/o vag

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok so my vag isnt working for some odd reason.. I recently as most of you know started having problems with my E-codes and the aim of the lights.. I took them apart and leveled them equally. Put them in my car, the adjusters equalize them, and then.... the headlight error came on!

AHHH! I tried to use VAG-COM but the stupid thing kept saying I needed it to be activated/licensed for it to work. So for the time being I removed the fuse so it would do that annoying BEEP and have that icon every time I drive it.. BUT I need to plug that fuse in again so that the lights aren't pointing in the air vs. the floor (where they should be) How can I clear it?

    THANKS!

I think it was fuse 10... its a 15amp one.. I pulled it, waited a day, and put it back in the next day to see if maybe it had forgotten about it... Nope, it just came right back.. weirdest part is that the headlights both dipp down and up...

When that happened to me I just unplugged the battery for a couple minutes and all was well.

You need a VAG to clear the code in the Xenon tab otherwise unplug the batter for a while and the code might clear from memory.

Re: Remove headlight error icon w/o vag

I think I know why its giving me that code... currently my headlights shine at the hight of ordinary brights and my brights.. well their sky high lol.. So maybe it knows there too high and thats why its spitting this code at me??

as for a solution... Sunday I will be taking them apart and leveling them correctly.. Then we will see if my theory is correct.. If not ill be all upset and vent it here on AZ hehe

Just send an e-mail to rosstech and ask them to help you get your licence working. They are very quick to respond. This is assuming you are using the real version which is required to adjust and reset the headlights. The generic version does not allow you full access to block 55 which is what you need.
