Hi guy,
Last fall, I bought a pair of B5 S4 caliper. I've had a good deal and pay only 50$ for the pair. Because I like things to be well done and dont want my car to look like crap, I decided to make those calipers looks better!
This is how they were. Dirty, scratched, little rusted, but in a good mechanical shape.
I've made every pieces apart and sandblast each pieces and then spray a coat of zinc primer (green)
The next picture shows that I buffed polished the appearant part of the caliper to make it look smoot and sharp in the wheel. I've eliminated all the rough surface and the casting process trace.
After the sand blast, that was time for paint job. At first I've used zinc primer because there was a couple of weeks between the sandblast and the final paint. Here are all the pieces ready for PPG epoxy primer...
Beside the paint job I've also had to brush the stainless hardware to make it clean, replace some screws, bleeders and rivets...
The final result is obtained by black basecoat (PPG) and 4 layers of clear coat (PPG)
The green parts has been masked because I dont wanted it to be painted because of their mechanical importance. I dont want my brake pads to sit on paint and Ii dont wanted paint in joints...
I can't wait for the spring to come and install those calipers whit new pads, new slotted rotors whit my immaculate USP summer wheels!!!
