    Interior lights stopped working

I'm hoping you guys can help me out here...

Yesterday I was installing my fogs and was trying to install the fog light switch (original part from Audi).

I took the switch for the headlight leveler (right word?) to measure where I could tap in to the different wires (+12V, back light etc.) with a multimeter, and I tried to fit the foglight switch just to see if I could figure anything out.. At this point everything was normal and working correctly.

Then I put everything back together the way it was, did not add any cables, and turned the ignition on and flipped the light switch to full. At this point none of the lights in the dash or centre console worked, AND my driving lights went on.

I have no idea what has happened. Was thinking that I had blown a fuse, but how the hell would that make the headlights turn on when I turned on the ignition (normally I'd have to start the engine for them to light up!)?

So does anyone have any good ideas on how to fix this?

    I haven't changed anything :P

Not added a single wire, not changed a single wire. Everything is stock.

Id try redoing it again if anything, it might be that the switch is not fully hookeup up IDK. Good luck.

Maybe, but that still dosen't explain how the hell the headlights light up when I turn the key/ignition..

what switch did you install? i forgot already how the b5 light switch is, but if it has an auto button to it, that is why the lights would go on.

Going on the belief you have an auto switch, since you have no auto eye, the car would think it is on all the time.

There's no auto function on the switch. There's a manual switch with three settings. That's the one I put back in after I took it out to measure.
