    ECU flashes in MD?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have an SAI code(P0411). I've been reading about it and will try and fix it but if I can't I'd like to just turn the emissions codes off. What are my options to do this? I'm assuming MD shops can do it. How much would they charge, do you think? How about owners with tuning software? What software could remove these codes and do a lot of enthusiasts have it? If so is there anyone close to me that I could maybe swing on by for a quick flash?

I live in Germantown, MD(Montgomery County). So any info on shops or individuals near me that could help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Not really, you might get Uni or Tapp or someone to write it out, but the main tuners will not

Go to RAI and get a UNI flash. They will take care of that code for you.

What is RAI? Is this a shop? I don't know what RAI stands for or where it's located. Thanks for the heads up.

    Re: ECU flashes in MD?

I spoke with ray and the UNI flash is out of my price range to fix this problem, but he did suggest the resistor or diode mod. Does anyone have any info on this? What type of resistor and where does it go?

By the way I really like honest shops and ray struck me as a very honest and helpful guy. Especially if he knows of a cheaper way to do something and tells you about it while it potentially costs him business. If I need work done on my Audi I will definitely be giving him a call.

Thanks for the suggestion on Ray. now does anyone have any links or ideas on this resistor mod?

ray is the man, you need a resistor and you wire it into the plug to make the ECU happy

    Re: ECU flashes in MD?

I ended up fixing the problem itself. Once I got in there it was so obvious that the little tube was sheerd off. It ended up not costing me a penny. Thanks for the help though guys.

    Re: ECU flashes in MD?

P0411 is referring to the Secondary Air Intake, or as us domestic guys call it, EGR(exhuast gas recirculation), or the common name, the combi valve. The combi is on the back of the intake. So the 411 code means there is somethin g not right going on with the combi valve. I think the most common error, and thankfully easiest/cheapest to fix is the vacuum line going to the combi vlave breaking down, falling off, or leaking. It gives an inaccurate readings and throws the code. I've heard others say the car idles funny at times, and a loss of gas mileage. Although I didn't notice any of those as the car drove perfectly.

Other parts of the SAI/EGR system can go bad. The combi valve can clog or the SAI pump can fail as well. Obviously those are sliughtly more expensive to fix, but fixable.

    Good luck.
